FORNEY LOCATION It’s like the brunch gods finally read my mind. Since 2016, I’ve been hoping for a spot that checks all the boxes—great food, solid service, a chill atmosphere, and a menu that doesn’t force you to pick between taste and your cholesterol. To make sure it wasn’t a fluke, I ate there four times this week. You know, for research. It’s only 2 miles from my house, which is both a blessing and a threat to my wallet. The menu? Eclectic and actually healthy—real, flavorful options that don’t feel like you’re being punished for trying to eat clean. The vibe is modern and fresh, with a light “Couchman-style” house beat playing—loud enough to catch a groove, soft enough to hold a conversation. Although I don’t drink, they’ve got a fully stocked bar if you’re into that day-drinking lifestyle. Mimosas for the win, no judgment here. Shoutout to Maddie, who served me 2 of the 4 times I went. Young, friendly, and totally on point—she knew the menu, offered great recs, and made the whole experience even better. Service across the board was consistent. Also worth noting: the male servers all look like they could moonlight as personal trainers or possibly perform at LaBare. I’m not saying they do… I’m just saying they could. All in all, this place has every ingredient to become a Forney favorite, if not a full-blown local legend.

Our server took a very long time to do anything. We got our food and it took 5 minutes to bring utensils out. I do not recommend!!!

Not a happy customer when it came to the hidden charges. Food here is always excellent. We have been here several times. First time I came with my kids and paid the bill myself.
I asked the waitress if they had gluten-free bread and she said yes and did not disclose the extra fee. When I received the receipt I noticed a discrepancy between the menu and the charges on the receipt as they were not the same. All the prices on the menu are round.
I tried not to embarrass my teenage children but also teach them a lesson. I ask the waitress why there was a discrepancy.
The waitress explained to me that there was a charge for gluten-free as well as an upcharge for paying with credit card. First of all, I never said I was paying with a credit card. She said that cash payment option is at the bottom. I told her I didn't have cash and was not made aware of a credit card fee. I explained to the waitress that I will only pay for the food that I received plus the tip she earned. I paid my bill and we will not return. I own a small business. Reputable businesses do not charge their consumers the credit card fees separately.

This was the 4th time I have been and each time I like it less. This time the food was just so very bland. Biscuits were obviously pre made and most likely microwaved warm. Hash browns were an over cooked brick. I asked for a side of Tracey and got charged an extra $5. Wish I had known that cause I just used it to dip biscuit in. I have a third of my omelette and the biscuit and my son only ate the steak bits off his dish and one pancake. We both agreed that was our last visit. When I mentioned to the waiter that my son didn’t like his meal, he just sort of shrugged and said oh. We waiting a good long time and we were the only ones in there. And an extra $4 to add 3 strips of bacon to my omelette? That was an extra $9 I was charged without a mention of how much extra it would be

Honestly, it’s overpriced and overwhelming. The biscuits are not homemade and most of the food tastes packaged. Decent service, but the food does not live up to it.

We came here on my birthday because we wanted to try something different than our regular breakfast spot. The food options were good, service was quick and friendly the only big issue with our visit is the smell of the restaurant. When I walked in it hit me in the face…the smell of mold or dirty mop water, mildew or something. It’s a shame because the place seems trendy and has potential. I felt worried about what I was breathing in. I took my toddler for a walk outside for fresh air while waiting for our food. I would have left before ordering because of the smell but my grandma is 78 and it would’ve been a lot for her to get back into the car and find another place so I just stayed.
My food was good but my son’s fruit cup came with brown bananas. I asked waitress to replace bananas with berries as those seemed more fresh. The bananas looked so unappetizing and were Obvious in the bowl I’m surprised she brought to the table. She did fix it though and brought berries without an attitude so that was helpful.
If you come here expect a smell in the restaurant but you’ll get used to it probably by the time your food gets there.

The food was delicious and the servers very friendly. I really enjoyed the chicken and waffles. The chicken had great seasoning and was perfectly crispy. It was also not too thick which made it super easy to eat with the waffle. The waffle was also not too heavy. The chef really put some thought into constructing that dish. My husband tried the Western omelette. It was a good size and really fluffy. Wish the potatoes (although perfectly fried) had a little extra seasoning (something to make them taste special ?) but that is just a personal preference. Overall we will definitely be back!

service was bad, we left. full staff and our waitress walked past us at least 7 times, ignoring us. New table was sat and she immediately addressed their needs. very disappointing as we live nearby, we left to go to Dalrock Diner. much better. oh and it was basically empty, so no excuses on this one.
