Food tasted great, got it through uber eats and it was delivered surprisingly fast. But I paid extra for hot cheetos in my burrito and they weren't there.

inside on the border they don’t allow you to come inside and place an order and they said it’s delivery only when the website clearly allows pick up so i drove 20 minutes to try a new food for nothing and i tried calling Man vs fries but they don’t answer the phone so that’s also nice .
complete waste of time

I ordered through grub hub so I can't rate atmosphere. I ordered the socal fries with carne asada. OMG! Let me tell you....the carne was juicy flavorful and really brought the plate together. The curly fries were perfectly fried. I also added the queso and avocado ranch. The order came quicker than expected which was kinda cool. The serving size is abundant. You will get full! The price is worth the meal. I was born and raised in socal and carne asada fries were a thing however I don't remember them ever being close to tasting as good as these babies! I'm impressed.
I will be making it a point to go into the establishment so I can try some more of what's offered here and give yall an actual rating for atmosphere ;)

I was fascinated by the concept and the viral social presence. But that is where my fascination ends. The food was bland, left a lot to be desired, and very pricey considering. I am rooting for them to improve, they have potential if they start actually serving the food they hype, but I'm not wasting $35 + tax on lunch until they do.
We ordered the Cali Crunch and Socal Burrito (with carne asada) and here's some proof in photos that what is instagrammable does not always translate in the actual product. Sure, the overall items are huge, but both were lacking the main protein source in the quantities I expected from photos hyped online, and they were also lacking all of the scrumptious ingredients that could make these banging. Instead, they overcompensated with ingredients that really lend no value, texture, nor flavor.
Take the Cali Crunch: I was expecting saucy, cheesy, creamy, crunchy, spicy. There is visibly plenty of cheese in there, but it's just not cheesy, there is not enough of any of the chicken or the spiked ranch advertised, and there was waaaayyyy too much guac. And I like guac! I was debating having them exclude the lettuce and tomato because normally in these types of things they get overly soggy from being steamed in these little pouches when they griddle them. This actually had the opposite problem, those fresh ingredients were so cold that they made everything cold. So it was griddled crispy and really well, but you take one bite and it was like eating a crunch wrap salad in lieu of all of the components that I really wanted more of like spiked ranch, chicken, cheese, creaminess, acid, and heat.
I can't give the burrito a better review either I'm afraid and it looked so damn good from the photo. Just because you put something viral like a hot cheeto in your product, does not make it an instant viral hit. Execution was just extremely poor. I understand that when you add crispy ingredients into a soggy environment that after a while they're gonna get soggy too but had they twice or even tripled fried the potatoes and layered them and the cheetos differently, they might have held up and given this concoction that intrigue they are clearly aiming for. Again sad amounts of carne asada, lacking sauce, creaminess, acid, heat and of course: too. much. guac. Giant pieces of avocado left unmashed too.
I give 2 stars for food because flavor of both meats was really good (albeit not enough of either), the ingredients tasted really fresh, and if you happen to be into too much guac, they are generous with it.
Just to clear up any logistics confusion, this is located inside of On The Border, as are apparently many other ghost restaurants. The hostess asked me "which one are you picking up from?" lol
Five more points from Gryffindor for providing no napkins, no utensils, and no additional sauce options in the bag, even Taco Bell gives you those kind of gross but also kind of wonderful sauces to spice things up. You can get more sauce on the side only by paying more and I'm sorry that's BS. If a menu item already comes with something, and you're gonna serve it dry as a desert, just let your customers get a little extra sauce if they want. This is a stingy practice.
Finally, if you have any dietary issues or are just particular as f*** (it's me, I'm the problem), there is not a field in the Google maps ordering system to make any sort of request. The UI in Google maps says DoorDash fulfills this order, but I was not in the DoorDash app, I was directly ordering in Google Maps. There is a field for special requests on their browser-based menu, so just seems like a random tech issue. Net-net, if you're gonna order from here online maybe do so from the browser or DoorDash app.
I'm really annoyed because it is sooo overpriced and it held a promise of offering super unique, delectable food in an otherw

It's wierd that it's a ghost restaurant inside of another restaurant, but the food absolutely slaps. If you've had carne asada fries or a cali burrito in California and are missing that authentic taste, this is it.

I ended up getting the flamin Cali crunch with the spiked ranch which is so good ? and the cheesecake for dessert. I first learned about this place on Uber eats! To me it’s like a Taco Bell on steroids. Pretty decent food. I gave 4 stars because the cheese cake comes with chocolate dip and it threw the taste off, I feel like strawberry would be a better dip choice, but that’s my opinion. I’ll try some other things eventually . If you’re curious, it’s located inside of On The Border (pickup only)
