My first visit was petty terrible. Small portions, broken ice cream machine, and no pickles. HOWEVER, I gave them another chance today and my experience was much improved. Ample portion of brisket and sides... including toast. Friendly staff. Even got pickles and ice cream. One meat plate with no drink was still over $20 though.

Luis is top tier, he takes good care of us, and so does the younger blonde haired girl. They both make sure we have everything we need, going above and beyond. Besides the food, they keep us coming back! The brisket and bark are always amazing at this location, no sauce needed.

I’ve been eating Soul Man’s BBQ since Royce City was the only location and I just had the best brisket I’ve ever had at any of their locations, in fact some of the best brisket I’ve had in my life. Asst Mgr Luis, who carved my meal (I mentioned I really like the bark) sliced it perfectly so that the news a little bark on most every bite, including some real nice nuggets…I digress. Luis also mentioned Soul Man’s is trying out a new rub. Whatever it was, the new rub and/or the chef’s ability with a blade and consideration of the customer, they are doing great work at the I-30 location in Rockwall. The customer service across the line was very courteous and professional as well. *apologies for not including a pic I was busy stuffing my face.
Absolutely fantastic experience at Soulman’s BBQ! From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and super knowledgeable — they greeted us right at the door and helped us decide on the perfect combo meals.
The food was outstanding! The ½ rack of ribs with hot link and spicy BBQ sauce was tender, smoky, and full of flavor — the perfect balance of heat and sweet. The green beans and corn were great classic sides, fresh and seasoned just right.
The 3-meat plate was just as impressive — juicy chicken, flavorful kielbasa, and perfectly sliced brisket that practically melted in your mouth. The fried cabbage was a standout, and the ranch-style beans tied everything together perfectly.
Generous portions, great prices, and amazing service. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Definitely my new go-to spot for real Texas BBQ!

The food was good. Brisket and turkey are always pretty good at Soulmans! The fries were hot and fresh. Portions were small, its a good thing my appetite is not huge. The place was empty on a Sunday afternoon. Going out to eat costs a small fortune and we don't do it often. BarBQue is usually worth it.

We’re from Indiana and stopped in for lunch. Before we were in the restaurant the smell was amazing. The Soulmans Team made it easy for us to order. My husband and I both got the Pulled Pork Fan Favorite. And the sides were fried okra, coleslaw, spicy potatoes and spicy beans. Nothing was below amazing. Big shoutout to Michele for going the extra mile to ensure we had a great experience.
