My husband, our baby girl, and I stopped by Soulman’s BBQ today, and it hit just right. The smell walking in alone was enough to make you forget your manners. The brisket was tender and smoky, the ribs fell right off the bone, and the sides tasted homemade — the kind of comfort food that feels like someone’s grandma was working the kitchen.

The staff were friendly and patient (which matters a lot when you’ve got a baby in tow). They made sure we had everything we needed and didn’t rush us. The place was clean, cozy, and had that true Texas BBQ vibe — casual but proud of what they serve.

If you’re looking for a spot that feels like a small-town cookout but delivers big flavor, Soulman’s BBQ doesn’t disappoint. We left full, happy, and with a little extra sauce on our sleeves — exactly how BBQ should be.

Bbq was so bland. Line was long. All the sides we had were mid at best.
Only good thing was the soft serve ice cream.

Was very disappointed that they were out of the half chickens, being the special of the month. I can see them running out before closing time, unfortunately, this was during dinner time. I normally don’t write bad reviews UNLESS THE EXPERIENCE LEFT A BAD TASTE, we normally just don’t go back to the place. The atmosphere was ok, couldn’t taste the food, and therefore it’ll stay as a negative, the reason for the bad review is aa follows: there was no sense of urgency, or apologetic attitude. The fact that nothing else was offered as replacement (IM NOT TALKING FOR FREE) to try and have us stay leads me to think this happens often. I can see why there were maybe 3 tables occupied during dinner rush. GOOD BBQ JOINTS are hard to come by, and this one disappointed. PLEASE IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A GREAT BBQ PLACE LET PEOPLE KNOW!!! To us this is not it… CEDAR HILL, TX. LOCATION

Love the food, brisket superb. I wished I would have got a baked potato instead of the two sides but maybe next time. Enjoyed the country music.

I recently ordered food online for delivery, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The food, across the board, lacked flavor and was far from delicious. The brisket, in particular, was the worst I've ever had, completely missing the rich, smoky taste I expect.
We specifically requested BBQ sauce with our order, but it was not provided. Even the side of beans and fried Okra were letdown; beans were watery and bland, offering no real taste.

Folks, this is NOT Texas BBQ
Their meats are dry as a bone, unseasoned. One note BBQ sauce and the sides taste like leftovers from last week. They boil the potatoes out of the tater salad. Tast like mustard flavor water mush. The old man (owner) told me off when I complained.

Please pray they shut down soon.
