My boyfriend and I went here for valentines last year and got their valentines menu for $100 per person, DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The service was great and they were very helpful at giving recommendations. We got crab cakes, ratatouille(my boyfriend LOVED), clam chowder, and a NY strip. They gave us a vanilla cake a prosecco with justice for dessert and it was fantastic. Would definitely come back for this experience.

Service bad bad. Came here to celebrate my anniversary and they said they are reservations only. It was a regular Tuesday night. What in the world? ZERO STARS.

Well not as exciting as once was.. this visit , I ordered the lobster with soup no lobster and then I had the Caesar salad with little brown spines and then I ordered the halibut which seemed a bit fishy and the sauce or textures were just a little weird to me.. prayers I don't get sick.. side note for having such an extensive menu of wine and only offering two by the glass that are absolutely disgusting pinot noirs.. is awful.. you basically have to buy $100 bottle just to get a good glass of pinot noir in there..just a heads up 😜😁 Not sure why there's been so many changes that it seems like it's going downhill.

Visited last night with 11 other people, and had an amazing experience. Not only was the food great, but the staff really curated an amazing experience for us. The general manager, Will, really accommodated us well. Will definitely be returning soon!

The Oar House was fantastic! The traditional lasagna was rich and delicious, and the spaghetti carbonara was perfectly creamy with great flavor. The garlic bread they send out too is top notch! Cozy atmosphere, great service, and amazing food all around. A perfect spot for any celebration and an excellent Italian meal!

Prepare for an out of body meal. Sean was the most amazing server - he was attentive and went far above and beyond.
Will was fantastic; super friendly and welcoming.
The quality of food and service is unparalleled.
The lobster bisque is to die for
Can’t wait for our next visit.

They had a heck of a dinner rush so were a bit slow but handled it with great attitudes and the food was amazing.

Food is average little bit above average. Garlic bread is a big plus. Old fashioned drink is a bit too sweet.

1-Star Review: The Oar House – Rockwall, TX
What a complete disappointment. We were looking forward to a great dinner at The Oar House on Friday night, October 3rd, and it ended up being an absolute disaster from start to finish.
We arrived at 6:50 PM to a restaurant that was maybe 40% full. You’d think service would be smooth with that kind of volume, wrong. Our server showed up quickly to take our order, and that was the last time he moved with any urgency or attention.
Our appetizer took 30 minutes to arrive, and our entrées never came out at all. After an hour and a half of waiting with two tired kids, we finally had to ask for our food to go. Not once did our server offer an explanation for the delay, not from the kitchen, not from management, not even an apology. Just silence and indifference.
To top it off, when we finally got the food home, it was cold, poorly prepared, and absolutely not worth the $185 we spent. Garbage would be a generous description.
This restaurant used to be a Rockwall landmark, now it’s nothing more than a has-been coasting on its past reputation. The service was pathetic, the food was subpar, and the lack of accountability was unbelievable.
Save yourself the time, money, and frustration, don’t waste a night at The Oar House. Rockwall has plenty of better options that actually care about their customers.
