Yuzu Japanese Restaurant & Bar

When we 1st got there hostess wiping her nose, wiping on pants, took long to get 1st drinks ordered. Waiter i think forgot about us. My husband had to go in and remind hostess. Then we went inside, finally ordered dinner and drinks. Drinks again took too long. Food came but the teriyaki chicken didn't have the rice with it. We had to remind Waiter. Food was OK. The water person was probably the most attentive.

Service was great. Our server was Harley, she was sweet and attentive. She seemed to know the menu well and was eager to share her knowledge. The food was underwhelming. We tried the wagyu wonton tacos, which were severely overcooked and dry. The wagyu had the consistency of gyro meat. We also had the crisp rice spicy tuna. It was good, but deconstructed which made the handling odd. Husband tried the Yuzu margarita. It was unique, but not well balanced. Overall, we weren't happy with the quality or quantity for the price point. We did have a later dinner, so we didn't stay for more.

We showed up an hour before closing on a Saturday. I try to not do that but everyone was super attentive even though they were cleaning up and getting ready to close. Food was great. Would definitely be back

This is really our go to most Friday nights for my wife and I as a last minute date night.

The food is fire. We have higher standards especially for sushi and this is a solid joint. We love having such a good sushi place in Rockwall.

Prices worth it imo although be prepared for longer wait times for anything ordered. If you go in with that in mind and order aggressively and often, you’re good. Here’s my list for future Tim!

Extremely underwhelming food. We were shocked at how unimpressive it was. Every dish was lacking flavor. Appetizers tasted like they came from a frozen bag you find at Walmart and thrown in to a deep fryer. Not many options for sushi… and the sushi was bland.
Very empty on a weekend evening. Makes sense to us now.
The place is decorated nice, but that’s the only nice part. If you enjoy sushi places in Dallas, even Kyoto in Rockwall, you will more than likely not be happy with your food.
They also bring out the food menu after “time to look at the drink menu”. I’m not sure they have considered there are people who don’t drink. We heard another table ask for the food menu when they sat down too. The waiter read over every section of the menu, when we finally got one, and it was very awkward how long it took. They said that the place has “family style” plates… where? Because they are all small like personal plates. They are for sure priced like they are for multiple people.
The location is great, ambience is nice, but they need to fix their food. Especially at those prices.
I was craving sushi this evening I could’ve went to Kroger to pick up a roll and been happier with the taste & saved money.

The service at this restaurant was very disappointing. 🫩😵‍💫The waitress made many mistakes and kept forgetting what to bring. We had to wait a long time just for her to come and take our orders. She also didn’t bring the food according to what we had ordered — we asked for specific things, but she ignored that and just brought whatever is standard on the menu.

This happened not only the first time we visited, but also the second time, even though we had a different waitress. Again, the order took a very long time, and there were mistakes in what was brought. I asked for an iced latte, but it never came. They didn’t add my syrup either, and told me I had to put it in myself. Then, when I agreed, they brought me the wrong syrup instead of vanilla. Only the second time, after I asked again, they brought the correct one separately.

On top of that, they asked us to get up and pay at the cashier ourselves, even though the day before they had brought the bill directly to us. When I mentioned this, they finally did bring the check to our table. Overall, the service was terrible. The staff seemed completely unorganized and unmotivated — as if they were overworked or had been working 24 hours straight, with no emotions at all. Because of this, I would not recommend going there unless they make serious improvements.

This is the best sushi restaurant I've ever been to not just in Rockwall, but in all of Texas.🔥👏

I have eaten sushi at some of the best restaurants in Seattle, Alaska, and in Las Vegas.

Yuzu Japanese Sushi here in Rockwall completely surprised and impressed me. It's odd, because some of the bad reviews that people have left here don't reflect this business at all. 🤷‍♂️

As a business owner, I take pride in providing our patients in creating the most unforgettable experiences possible.

It's easy to see that the owner/manager pays attention to all of the small details and demands that excellence from their team.

Foods not the worst, wouldn’t say it’s worth the price, can definitely find better worthwhile options elsewhere but maybe not in rockwall. Service is great but the owner or manager of the establishment seems to be a source of anxiety based on observing the servers expressions and body language, our kind server seemed frazzled after a conversation with her😬, felt a little bad. But this was a bit ago so maybe things have changed.

The food was amazing, the service, and atmosphere. Damien was fantastic, even though being new to certain services. Went through and explained everything we asked about and even gave recommendations, on his choices, previous attendants choices, and chef's choice. The wagyu was amazing, the rolls were some of the best we've had, and the fried rice was of the highest quality.

Absolutely incredible experience tonight. The atmosphere was spot on, stylish, welcoming, and just the right vibe for a relaxing night out. Hands down some of the best sushi I’ve had in a long time! Super fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish hit.

One thing I really noticed was how well the place was being run. There was one team member (not sure if she was a hostess, server, or what) who seemed to be everywhere at once. Cleaning, sweeping, helping out, just totally on it. She may have been new, I overheard her being praised at some point. Didn’t catch her name, but she stood out in the best way.

Definitely coming back. This place knows what it's doing.

I’ve been to many.. many sushi restaurants in Texas. This one is by far the greatest in every aspect. The atmosphere, the service, the quality of food, the presentation, the little quirky things that, on their own increase the quality of life very slightly, but altogether add up to set the bar through the ceiling! The food that is cooked, is cooked to perfection. The food that is raw tastes like it was caught and cut two seconds ago. This has the potential to be a bucket list item! I would give it 10 stars but Google only allows 5.

My husband and I ate here for our anniversary and it was absolutely amazing! The staff was wonderful and attentive. Even though it was busy we we in and out in an hour. It was the best japanese food I've ever had. We got oysters which we agreed were the best we'd had as well as several sushi rolls. The ceviche was next level, the flavors just sit on your tongue and dance. The cocktails were delicious and they brought us a special dessert for our anniversary. The ambiance is very nice as well. 10/10 will come back
