Food- ordered catfish Opelousas and the dirty rice tasted like box dirty rice from the grocery store. ? I had to request additional crawfish sauce because I could barely see any atop my food. Shrimp was well seasoned. Kids ordered waffle hamburger. They said it tasted good but did not like that it fell apart. The server was polite and attentive to our needs. The Atmosphere was nice and clean. However, since I used a credit card, I had to enter and my own information into their payment pad since their credit card system was down ( not fun). In saying all this, I am sure I will not be visiting again.

Nice place but food needs more flavor. I know most places are cutting down on seasoning their food because of health reasons but when you say Southern or soul food, seasoning, salt and fat are to be expected .

She made excellent recommendations and provided excellent service without being on top of us.Food was great! We started with fried green tomatoes. Excellently battered and tart. They arrived nice and hot. My wife had the fried catfish, yams, and greens. I had a small bite of the catfish. It was seasoned well, batter had a crunch and was not at all greasy. I had the smothered pork chops with mashed potatoes and greens. All items were good. I particularly liked the liquor of the greens. Portions were great. So, we didn't get a dessert.The only reason I didn't give the atmosphere a 5 is because the large window in the front made me feel like I was in an aquarium.It did bother my wife, the windows are tinted. But, some blinds or some drapery would be helpful.Support this local business!
Hubby and I just moved to Rosenberg and saw this place called Southern Soul Kitchen. The place was nice and clean with Soul soft music playing in the background. The staff was nice and friendly. We ordered Pork Chops, Mac and Cheese, and candid yams also a side of okra, sauguage, shrimp and tomatoes with Crawfish Etouffee. My only complaint is too much roux on the etouffe. Over all from what we had we rate Soul Kitchen a 9/10.

The meals were horrible. I ordered pork chops with yams and potato salad, and received some type of potatoes instead. We also ordered the Blackened Salmon and was supposed to get red potatoes with it and did not get them either. Also, there were only two asparagus that came in the order. In addition, the portion size of the salmon was not up to the cost. My daughter ordered chicken and waffles and macaroni and cheese that was very dry. The chicken was also horrible. It was half of a waffle, not even a whole one. This food was so horrible, I will never order from this restaurant again. Not only that, we requested silverware and didn’t receive any. We paid too much money to be dissatisfied, and because we couldn’t eat the food, we still had to find something else to eat.

We love everything from the fried catfish to the loaded cajun pasta and banana pudding cake. This place has amazing food along with paramount customer service.
