Stopped in for brunch. Seated, server approached with no greeting no acknowledgment. We ordered and someone else brought food. He spent that time talking to coworkers. Finally noticed we were done, never checked on us. He brought the bill then mentioned I could use Apple Pay, I said I don’t have it and he handed me the device to pay, all the while talking to a coworker’s wife seated behind us. He is lucky the device only offered 20% and up for tips as we were very unhappy about the service!

I love Round Top, Texas and this is my third meal at Boon & Co. The lunch menu has something for everyone. Check out the soups, salads, sandwiches and made to order pizza. The Classic Cheeseburger is so tasty. You can choose truffle or regular fries and to be healthy they offer a side salad. Today, I watched them make a pizza from scratch and load them into the brick oven. Five different pizzas will keep you happy. When you are done eating at the restaurant you stroll out to the retail area where you will find the perfect gift. Everyone is welcome including families and you just might see the famous ladies that lunch!

The service is great and they can accommodate groups. The dining room is relaxed with a mix of table sizes. They have the largest selection of wine in town and a full service bar just up the stairs on the second floor.

Parking: You can park behind the restaurant and on two sides for free

Growing up in La Grange & growing up coming to Round Top my entire childhood and now young adult life. I was so looking forward to trying out Boon & Co. since it’s new in town! My Husband and I came in today to eat lunch super excited about seeing the place, enjoying the southern hospitality I’ve always talked about when referring to those that work in just about any establishment in Round Top. I was greatly disappointed with our first visit & don’t think this will be a recurring stop while visiting family in town. It genuinely seemed like everyone working there was confused on what they were supposed to be doing. I would say it’s because it’s the start of antique week in town, but I’ve attached a picture and you’ll see that there were tables and tables empty. When we came in, we were immediately sat without a wait. Regardless of being sat instantly, we waiting about 15 mins for our waiter to come over (one the many waiters) when our waiter came, there was no “how are yall?” Or “hi guys!” Just “what would yall want to drink?”. Both my husband and I got tea, and I orders us the salmon tartare. When the waiter came back he only brought my husband a tea, and our appetizer, no plates. And vanished to never return back to our table. I waited 15 mins and then went to him to ask for my tea and plates for the appetizer, which felt odd to me since the whole time he wasn’t actively doing anything besides goofing off with other waitresses behind the counter of the dessert and drink bar and playing on his phone. When I received my drink, it was a club soda. But when I tried finding him again, the new waitress we got said he had left for the day? We saw this waitress at our table one singular time, when we placed our main dish order. This waitress never returned to our table either. Between the time we ordered food and received our semi warm sandwich’s we were asked by 3 other people working there if we wanted to order our food. Again, felt like maybe there was a lot of confusion, poor training, or lack there of before opening the establishment.

+ I would’ve loved to be able to bring my grandmother here to even try it out again possibly but the stone walkways and uneven areas around the restaurant are just not safe and really should’ve been more thought out, especially with the amount of elderly/older generations that live around or in Round Top and surrounding areas.

I wanted to love this restaurant, it is very beautiful from the outside and could’ve been a hit but think there will be quite a few issues when there isn’t a customer services forefront nor training for those in the industry.

One of the best meals I have had out in a long time. We had the Lemon pesto linguine and a pizza. The pasta was out of this world. And then to finish it off we had the brownie, which is beyond amazing. Highly recommend. Oh, and by the way, the cocktails were great.

Really nice spot in Round Top with a market-like feel and upstairs cocktail bar that has speakeasy vibes. There is a section with gourmet food and wine to-go as well as a shop that has tons of cute house items, clothing and gift wares. We shared a charcuterie board which was super yummy :)

The Thumbs Critic

? From the outside, it wasn’t clear if this was a restaurant or another store.
⚠️ The brick pathway to the entrance is uneven and a tripping hazard.
? It took forever to get a menu, despite us being the only people at the entrance.
⚠️ The main entrance isn’t handicapped accessible, and I had to help an elderly lady up the stairs.
? After noticing the accessibility issues, we realized there is an "accessible" entrance. However, it seems like it was added as an afterthought, likely added to meet regulations. Worse, the path to this entrance has a 4-inch incline, making it difficult or impossible for a disabled person to navigate. Again, none of us are disabled, but I was raised by my great-grandmother, and helping that elderly lady up the stairs made me even more upset by this oversight.
? The staff was busy with a retail display and almost ran into into me.
? There’s a bakery and a retail store on the main floor, and a cool-looking bar upstairs.
? However, if you're just interested in the retail shop or bakery, you’ll have to walk through the entire dining room to get to either place.
? The restroom soap smells nice.
? However, someone waiting in line for the restroom told me they have very low water pressure. I only needed to wash my hands, and the pressure was good enough for that.
? The wine list is extensive, which makes sense given how Texas wine country is nearby.
? However, there’s no non-alcoholic beverage list.
? The duck sliders are delicious. The BBQ sauce is sweet, and the onions add a nice crunch.
? The fries are too thin and crunchy, and lack a soft center. Thicker fries would fix both of these problems.
? My companions loved the burger.
? Other tables ordered a pizza, and it looked amazing.
? Watching them cook the pizza in the oven was cool, too.

Wonderful experience. We came here for drinks. The bartender was friendly and accommodating. The Cucumber Serrano and the extra dirty martini were both on point.

Fannnnccy. The bar has the swankyness you need. Downside, paying $14 bucks for 3 lamb meatballs is a bit stiff; however, you'll pay the same amount and get a super stiff drink so it all works out in combination with the vibe.
