The food was great! Our server Violet was point. 👍👍
There was live music and the guy was a great Latino singer, but the volume was kinda loud to converse at the table.
The house margaritas were the BOMB!
All in all a great experience!

Amelia’s has always been a very special and intricate part of our lives. Let me tell you how special this family is before I go into their amazing food, drinks, service and atmosphere.
I honestly cannot remember the year that they become a part of our extended family.
My daughter grew up there and no one could make rice like her mom. The only rice that she would eat was Amelia’s rice. She would say “this is the only rice that tastes like moms.”
My beautiful wife Erma was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2010. We had quite a journey with chemo and radiation therapy. Nothing would taste appealing to my beloved wife during this period. The only thing that she would enjoy eating was Amelia’s tortilla soup. There were certain spices that she couldn’t tolerate. Amelia would make a special batch for my wife so that she would eat and not get weak on us. We thought we had beaten the cancer! Unfortunately, it came back with a vengeance in July of 2012. Amelia once again would go out of her way to ensure that my wife was eating her tortilla soup. That’s just the type of family they are. Amelia, her husband, Jade, Abdi, and Onam always made us feel so loved and welcomed. My beautiful wife passed away in October of 2012. Every time that we want to feel mom’s presence with us, a meal at Amelia’s will do it. She loved their fajitas and margaritas. We left Rowlett in October of 2014 and I can honestly say that not being able to eat at Amelia’s was the hardest thing for us. We still try to make it up there for special occasions.
My daughter’s dream since age six was to be a Police Officer. She wanted to make a difference and serve her community. My daughter has been in law enforcement since October of 2017, as a Public Safety Officer and Detention Officer. Her dream became a reality on November 6, 2025, she graduated from the Police Academy. Her only wish was to have Amelia’s cater her graduation party. We called Amelia and Abdi, and the party was on.
We had food made for approximately 45 people and the food was a total hit! Our guest feast on brisket with the same veggies as the beef fajitas. We had chicken fajitas, rice (mom’s favorite), guacamole, queso, chips, red and green salsa, homemade corn and flour tortillas! OMG, the food was made with so much love and everything looked picture perfect.
I can never say thank you enough to Amelia and her family for always going above and beyond for us. Your food is definitely a staple that will always be a part of our existence. You are very dear to us and we wish you continued success always. We cannot wait to call you once again for our next celebration or life changing event.
You deserve all of the stars in the solar system dear friends. May God Bless you always and Happy Holidays!! ♥️♥️♥️

Easily the best Mexican restaurant in Rowlett and one of the best in Dallas County. The handmade tortillas and the charro beans alone are phenomenal. Don't sleep on this spot, they check all the boxes for excellent Mexican food. Breakfast goes hard too, gate keeping for real with the brisket con huevos. Sooo good.

We had such a great time at Amelia’s today!!! I had the Cheesy tacos for Juan (my favorite) we also had the stuffed jalapeños for the first time and they were fantastic. We will love this place, everyone is so nice and the drinks and food is amazing!!!

I ordered Amelia’s for our company Thanksgiving party and everyone loved the food! We ordered a bit of everything enchiladas, tacos, and quesadillas and the food did not disappoint! The staff were also super friendly! Thank you Amelia’s from First Step Chiropractic🤗

I usually don’t leave these kinds of reviews, I’ve been putting it off for a few days but I just have to say the owner here and another older lady with blonde hair were EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude to my waiter last week…he sat our table while the 2 ladies were sitting around not doing much, next thing I know their screaming at him and telling him “ I don’t wanna see your face the rest of this night.” ONLY BECAUSE THE OTHER LADY WANTED HIS TABLE! ( I’m more that 99% sure I couldn’t hear all the way)….the food was so good here but I will not be eating again for this reason, this was extremely disrespectful and unnecessary. I hope he gets treated with more respect soon.

Had brunch over the weekend and as always the food and service were top tier. We have a favorite server, Claudia, that we request every time. From the moment we walk in the door she greets us with the biggest smile. She is always on top of her game and knows exactly what we want without us even having to tell her. I would highly recommend the Chili Relleno...it's perfect every time. This place keeps us coming back!

Ordered to-go and very disappointed. Husband said fajita meat was chewy. My enchiladas were very bland and hardly any queso covering them which is my favorite part. Rice and bean portions were nothing like the in house photos listed, just don't order to-go if you want the best from here, not worth it

My office is in the area and we often have lunch at Amelia's. Both dine-in or take-out, the food and service is always on point and more importantly, they're consistent. They're a small family owned and operated restaurant and you get that customer loyalty feel here. On top of that, their sopes and bistek a la mexicana don't miss. Try it!
