It wasn’t great, but it was okay enough. The food was okay. The atmosphere was okay. It looked historical, but it kinda needs a bit of a renovation if it wants to keep up because it can do great as a stopover for people going to Garner State Park. It was a small town resto. The employees were very kind and pleasant though and very accommodating, which makes up for everything.

This is the best BBQ brisket and sausage I’ve ever had! Delicious! I wish I had known about this place sooner, but now that we’ve found this jewel of a restaurant, we will be regulars! The only thing that would make it even better would be dinner time hours.

Support local! We drove by this on the way to Garner State Park and decided to stop here on the way back. It was good food. I had the 2 meat plate with Brisket and Sausage and it came with 2 sides. That Potato salad was really good stuff. Probably the best I’ve had at a BBQ joint in Texas. Also, the service was great. We’ve now eaten in about 20 BBQ places across Texas this year (i don’t review the bad ones). I enjoy talking to people in these small mom and pop places and our server here was great. Friendly and kind and a good conversation She also gave us some carrot cake. It was fantastic. Even my wife who dislikes carrot cake liked it. Only complaint is just pop on a little music it’s weird eating in silence.
Also, i have to laugh I read some reviews before I ate here and one said, “doesn't meet my standards of a great BBQ joint.” Sorry they didn’t have 20 IPA’s on draft and blueberry chipotle sauce. It’s a clown statement and 100% not factual ??♂️
I 100% put my approval on this place and say Support Local. It’s a great little stop to or from Garner. Thank You!

Dietary restrictions: I asked waitress about milk or cheese on Carne Guisada plate. Told her I have severe allergy. Plate came with cheese on salad, beans, etc I told her I couldn't eat that. Became defensive. Brought out with removed. No silverware,.no refill on tea. No lime or limon for tea. Couple next to me got all that, no attitude. Food was delicious. Service was terrible, rude. I was polite. I should have left when the food was brought out, with cheese on salad and beans. Spoiled a meal I was looking forward to. Working a Four man crew. All this week. We don't need an attitude with great food. No way we're spending $ per morning on great food. Surly service

Been wanting to try this place for a while and so glad we finally made it over! My boyfriend had a plate of scrambled eggs, brisket taco, and barbacoa taco. His favorite was the brisket taco with the scrambled eggs coming in second. For myself, I order the R burger! It was absolutely delicious and easily makes the top of my favorite burgers list. The brisket/ grilled onions/ patty, cheese, and bbq sauce were perfect in each bite! The ladies running the show were awesome and worked together to assist all the customers. It’s a quaint diner with tables and booths and I already can’t wait to go back! Will for sure be trying the carne guisada (and still ordering the r burger). ?

Pepper steak said 2 burger patties stuffed with peppers and cheese recieved a single patty covered with rotell tomatoes from a can! Then the owner/waitress put a moldy strawberry shortcake on my table. When I questioned the mold she said it was the whip cream! She knowingly served me mold!! ?? Nasty people who sell moldy food! The most expensive mold you can buy!!!

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here. No lineups (was December). Huge portions, delicious good, very good prices. Fantastic value. Only drawback was the limited wine selection. Otherwise a 5+

As soon as you pull in the place, especially if you have your window down, the smell is so good. Almost divine with that brisket. The atmosphere inside is like a comfy home and the service is the same. The brisket taco was amazing. Homemade barbecue sauce, pickle, onion, brisket, it was so good. Peach cobbler was like Western pudding. Amazing also fresh peaches, it was so good again. Just got to put in that that brisket taco was the best taco in 5 states.
