Took a drive to the lake. Haven't been there in years. My gf and I stopped here for lunch, she had blackened shrimp taco's, I went with the catfish
It was excellent. I left very pleased and will be back. Wish the lake levels would rise.
Hidden gem! This is definitely a place worth going out of your way for! It was absolutely delicious! We forgot to take photos of our food because we just at it all up before getting any photos. Great service too! Will definitely make sure to stop here if we pass through the area again. We ate, blackened catfish with crawfish etouffee, cafish po boy with tots and bacon cheeseburger. 10/10
Kid-friendliness: Offered high chair and there was field next to building for my son to run around and burn some energy before getting back on the road.

The server was great. She was a very well mannered teenager and kind of reminded me of Amanda Bynes. She carried on complete conversations with us like a proper adult. The owner was very friendly and came out to ask how the food was. It was our cheat day and it was worth it. The place is very cute and welcoming.

We have been going to the Roux since we moved here and the only complaint I had then was it was slow on the service part with no refills but chalked it to being in a small community being laid back and not like the city life which to me wasn't a big deal. But tonight my kids came into town and we took them to the Roux for dinner which turned out to be a disaster that left us all flabbergasted with such behavior from both of the owners. It is very sad they handled the situation in the manner they chose to and treat customers the way they did just because the jambalaya was WAY over cooked. I had let the waitress know about it. Her response was the other customer that had it didn't say anything. She told the owner which in turn brought the plate back to us and sat it in front of my daughter and said that it was cooked just the way it should be and hastily turned and left. We all looked at each other in pure shock. That literally pissed me off at that point. I got up and got my daughter's plate took it to the waitress showed her all the dry, burnt and hard sausage in it and set it down next to her and said we didn't appreciate the male owner bringing it back to our table and telling us there is nothing wrong with it that it's cooked exactly like it should be. I sat back down at our table and a few minutes later the female owner came out and said "Ok who is the grumpy one here" which I feel was playful at first so I said "I am" at this point I expected her to come out and make things right. No she started saying "that is the way you cook Jambalaya you have to brown the sausage like that" I tried to tell her it was dry, burnt and hard she didn't seem to like being told that either and left without another word. As if that wasn't enough the male owner came and stood behind the bar area and just stared at us very weirdly made my kids very uncomfortable so we all got up and left. If they would have handled the situation in a professional manner we probably would have still gone to dine there in the future. With this experience I can say my family and I will not spend our hard earned money in their establishment to get treated like that ever again. A good business owner should always take a customers insight as an opportunity to acknowledge the customer's concerns, apologize for their experience, and assure them that you're taking steps to address the issue. This not only appeases the unhappy customer but it also showcases your dedication to resolving problems. Always maintain a professional tone when responding to the customer.
