Stopped by when passing into town. Restaurant was busy but service was really quick. Our server was great and very personable. Both mine and my Mom’s meals were 10/10. Will come back!

We ordered 2 sandwiches and a salad. Our experience was horrible. When we opened the salad, it was completely warm, and the lettuce was hot—we ended up throwing the food away. One of the sandwiches was fried, and even the most basic item, the fries, just tasted like pure oil 🤮. The strawberry shortcake cake was soggy. Definitely not a good experience.
Maybe this restaurant is better suited for another type of food, but what we tried was terrible.

Y’all, this place is like being back home at Momma’s house! Warm welcome walking in the door, the best sweet tea, and huge portions of good old country cookin’ at a great value for the price you pay. Julia was attentive and personable with just the right amount of wit and playfulness to keep our mealtime interesting as well as enjoyable like we were family… phenomenal service. Well done!

Worst chicken fried steak I've ever tasted, all breading 1/8in.thick meat.brown gravy was instant and tasted terrible. The fish and shrimp were good. Not ever going back. The waitress was very kind.

My husband and I had lunch today. The very first impression was the hostess. She never smiled or greeted us upon arrival. She only asked for our name for waiting list. Once the table was ready she literally fasted walked ahead of us. I did not know where she went. Once we found her (still no smile) she seemed very irritated that we could not find her. Very unpleasant first impression!! She definitely needs to be trained on what her duties are as a hostess of a restaurant. We did tell our server and asked her to pass this on to the owner/manager. Our food was delicious and plentiful. Our server was very good. She interacted with us in a very friendly way with a smile. We trudy appreciate her kindness. Our overall experience was good. Clean restrooms and restaurant. Our food was very tasty.

You can wait in line for Q for 2 hours in Seguin or just visit the 1838 Grill and enjoy homestyle cooking in a friendly small town diner in 20 minutes! 1838 has fast, friendly, professional staff, hot tasty meals, in a family-friendly location. The grilled pork chops were moist and tasty and the sides were a perfect portion and like Mom would make. Tea glass always full and server was excellent! Just wished there’d been room for the tasty dessert options!
