Wait staff cashier and other employees were very nice and checked on us throughout to see if we needed anything. What does it mean when you place your order at a Texas BBQ place, then you realize that everyone around you is eating chicken? I ordered a chopped brisket sandwich and received what my husband says is a "hash" sandwich... finely shredded beef mixed with other stuff. I am a Texan and this is not an acceptable chopped brisket sandwich. The fried okra and apple pie were nice and so was my friend's chicken strips (very juicy and nice!). All they need to do is change the name of the sandwich and all would be fine. Please... order the chicken.

I had chopped brisket sandwich with a side of potato salad and it was tender and well seasoned ( the secret ingredient in the salad wasn't for me but still good). The coconut cream pie was AMAZING! My husband said the catfish was also very good.
My wife says johnnys is the best she's had in years and she leaves at all hours of the night to go get some food I guess but never brings me back any. I haven't seen her in 3 days

Excellent staff when Betty Lou is working. I've tried just about everything on the menu I finally decided to try the homemade Chicken soup today. I must leave an honest review.The noodles are completely mush and it tastes like Campbell soup from a can with some real pieces of dark meat and herbs thrown in.I'm sorry. Huge disappointment.However the pies any flavor are always on point and Excellent!!
Fish plate was good. I didn't like the plates used to serve our meal. Would rather have had disposable ones.
