Have eaten here twice and WOW! The BEST smoky, tender and moist BBQ brisket you can buy! My family loves their sausage, too. Quite expensive but then so is buying, preparing and only serving premium slices of excellent cooked brisket. I don't mind paying for value and that's what they serve here! We have been twice now. The bbq is average. This time we ordered brisket sandwiches, corn casserole, and a desert. Brisket was tender, but under seasoned. Corn casserole is okay. Desert is good. Staff is very polite. Though I think understaffed. Atmosphere is pleasant. Kind of pricey.
From the kindness of the staff to the quality of the food, Schulze’s was a welcomed treat for this Jersey boy. I’ve done Franklins, Kreuz’ and this quality was on par with Franklins and bested Kreuz this time around. If you’re driving from SAT to HOU, make plans.
