This is not find dining, but any place that has a really tasty chili cheeseburger with nice fries, outdoor seating on the lake, flawless service (thanks, Chelsea), and an excellent Bloody Mary (OK, two) gets five stars from me.

Steak night on Thursdays is amazing. Along with Henry's ice cream or a piece of pie....heaven.

Vernon's has really gone downhill. It has great potential. The view of the lake is great and good bands play outside. When the band is inside, it's too loud to converse. However, the restaurant is absolutely filthy! From top to bottom and everything in between. All of the glass doors are disgusting and the part of the kitchen we saw was the same. It was not very busy when we were there and there were several workers that could've swept , cleaned the glass.....anything other than just sit around as we saw. But if the owner doesn't care, why should the employees. As for the food, it's somewhat ok. I was served old wilted lettuce with my dish. Overall, a big disappointment.

This is a nice establishment on the water with a decent menu and nice atmospher for a bar.I give this establishment 3 stars due to the quality of food. Of four meal only one of them was good. Ordered two burgers that seemed like they came off a grill that needed cleaning and were over cooked. The items we ordered that were fried were over fried and on the verge of inedible. We got some questionable crustables with made me think the Fryer needed to be cleaned.

Would normally not have even tried a restaurant with less than 4 stars but after reading some of the (absolutely ridiculous) reviews we decided to give it a try. Arrived at 7:30 PM on an otherwise mundane Thursday evening. Were seated immediately upon entering. The atmosphere is a mishmash of eclectic and lakeside/nautical. The view, I'm sure, during the daylight is likely magnificent with the table to ceiling windows along the entire wall. Our sweet young waitress, Kelsey, was incredibly attentive. I always ask for both drink and entrée suggestions from wait staff. Kelsey suggested the pineapple coconut margarita. It was delicious! Not too sweet so absolutely perfect, if you ask me. Her fav entrée is either the chicken pot pie or the chicken fried steak unless it's Thursday and how lucky were we to have accidentally chosen Thursday to pop in! An 8 oz filet mignon so tender you can cut it with a fork, grilled veggies (yellow and zucchini squash with red onions) seasoned and cooked to literal perfection along with a loaded baked potato and a side salad for the just $29. I could easily eat here every Thursday evening!! Hubby had fried catfish which came with fries and coleslaw. I'm a catfish snob but I actually did love the couple of bites he traded me for a few bites of my amazing steak! While we are in town tomorrow, we will be back to watch the sunset and try Kelsey's other recommendations!! I highly recommend this little gem if you're on or near the lake!

So honestly it’s more of a bar than anything else. Everyone has talked this place up, me and my husband thought we would go for our anniversary. The food was all burnt and my catfish was no bueno. After a few minutes of walking out the door I started to feel sick and ended up throwing up. It’s our freaking anniversary, don’t eat here bro just don’t do it. For sure not worth what we payed!
