my son got a kid pancake breakfast, I got the omelette and my baby girl got kids tenders. My son gets to the end of his plate and notices a tiny bug. Now by this time, he’s already eaten the entire meal and notices the bug and brings it to my attention. I did not go from 0 to 100 or any of that the waitress went and got the manager and the manager came to the table. I told my son you’re a teen you’re old enough to talk for yourself so let her know about your experience and what you found when you got to the bottom of your plate, he showed her which the plate is pictured below. Her cocky response was immediately “well. I’ll take off his meal but I’m not gonna take off yours. I’m like “I didn’t eat my meal nor did my baby girl because that’s a major turnoff. We don’t want it. My son felt like he had to vomit from the thought of possibly eating bugs.” I stated “ you can go ahead and take the plate back and take my daughters plate back as well. We can’t eat here.” She tells me she still has to charge me for my food even though I didn’t eat, but a bite because my son showed me the bug and I was turned off and couldn’t eat another bite. My daughter was already eating and I was gonna pay for my sons and mines. After that experience we couldn’t even get apologetic demeanors. The manager had an attitude about taking the food back, not charging us, and us walking away due to THEIR negligence!! I’m not the culprit, I’m the VICTIM AND SO ARE MY CHILDREN!! I could have raised hell and nutted up but I kept my composure even after the manager was super cocky and unapologetic. Then the icing on the cake was, the waitress came by and asked did I want a carry out and I said no thanks, I can’t eat this so no reason to take it with me. She stared at me as if I completely disrespected her by saying in a nice calm manner, “no thank you I can’t eat it after that”. So she immediately followed up with “it’s not my fault why you screaming at me” “I didn’t come to work today to be yelled at”!! I’m like, girl what??!! I literally have NEVER been as calm as I was being so immediately I knew she was TRYING to start something w/me, because SHE delivered food to the table with bugs!! I never blamed her!! I actually was thinking she would be apologetic and we would talk about the experience in a respectful manner but that didn’t happen. She continued to “pick a fight” and I’m like “look, if you we’re sitting at the dinner table with your family, and one of your family members notices a bug in their food, would you lose your appetite and not wanna eat there anymore?” She says “ I wouldn’t but why are you yelling at me I didn’t come to work to get yelled at!!” I said “maam I’m not being disrespectful, loud or hostile. Why are you attempting to pick a fight”?? My issue is really w/nobody “! She says “I’m going to leave this table now excuse me”!! I immediately looked at my son who was just as lost as to why she is picking a fight w/me while I’m calm?? ? so the manager comes back to the table. Now mind you I was waiting for some type of resolution from the manager because earlier she said that she wasn’t going to take my food off the bill just my sons and my daughters was free and walked away, so I was waiting for her to respond. the manager came back to the table as if she came back to check me about. She said that the waitress came to tell me about the bill and she wanted to understand why I was still sitting there being hostile? I start actually questioning if the solar eclipse really did mess with peoples brains or was it the drugs, I still don’t have the answer to that question. ? Don’t do drugs kids! It’s straight customer service, do’s and don’ts! All in all it was disrespectful, nasty, and unfriendly! Unless you like bugs in your food and a cocky manager and a clueless waitress, then I would advise you to stay far away from the Denny’s on I 45 in Shenandoah! FAR AWAY!

This one is absolutely awful the food was terrible we both ordered the Grand Slamwich an the caramel drizzle and banana pancakes to slip between myself an my girlfriend an it looked absolutely disgusting the bananas were all brown an nasty, definitely won't we be returning to this one.
Went around 12:30 am on 03/15 and our service was terrible. It took around an hour and a half to receive only 3/4 meals we had ordered and 2/3 meals that arrived were made incorrectly. Waited another 35-45 minutes only for the last meal to never arrive. We asked the server to take one of the meals that arrived off the check because it wasn’t eaten due to having ingredients that one of our friends is not able to eat. He double checked with the server twice before the food had arrived to make sure that he had correctly entered the order with the request to take off that ingredient, and the server told him twice that it would not be on there. When we asked for the check, the server had taken that plate off, but tried to charge us for the plate that never arrived. Finally got our checks worked out and the excuse for the service was that the cook was new, which only explains about half of the issues we experienced. Will definitely not be back to a Denny’s after this experience.
