We were passing through and decided to stop at this charming little restaurant. The inside was very clean, pleasant and atts well. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There were four in our group, one ordered the elk burger and the other three ordered the BBQ combo consisting of chicken and chopped brisket. Vegetables consisted of fried squash, baked potato, fried okra and fries. We ordered at 11:51, after about 40 minutes we ask our waitress how much longer until our lunch would be served and she said 5 minutes. It was taking longer because the elk was frozen. When we received our meal, the person with the elk burger had to add seasoning but overall it was very good. All the vegetables were good but needed seasoning. It seemed the chicken was from a bag of frozen thighs or maybe breasts, it wasn't clear what it was. When the waitress set our meals on the table, she handed steak knives to the ones that ordered the BBQ combo. The brisket was very dry and the chicken was overcooked. It was difficult to cut even with a steak knife. The meat wasn't barbecued, but the waitress did bring barbecue sauce once we asked for it. The restaurant was clean, staff very friendly but we were disappointed in the meal.

Was not waited on because of my skin color. Was not even addressed. No No wait time refuse to spend my money there. This restaurant is not for people of color. Please avoid if you’re in Shepherd, Texas. Just go to the sonic.

Worst service of any restaurant I have ever been to. After 30-35 minutes my food never arrived and the waitress never visited after taking my order. Went up to check but got nowhere so I left. They heavily prioritize to go orders over dine in. Do not dine in here!

This place is a 5⭐️ in every way! Food was delicious and portions were definitely Texas size. Elizabeth did a great job and has a great singing voice❤️. If you are in the area it is definitely worth stopping by. I live an hour away and it’s worth every mile. Great job Billy.
