I am rating this place on a sliding scale. If you come from the culinary area of New York, you would see it differently, but this is a very humble, and very sweet family-run business. The floors are concrete, and practically everything is painted orange; but, the warmth of the staff is unmatched, and they aim to please with their food.I had a chile rellano with an enchilada and my travel companion had burritos. The guacamole was homemade and delicious.I hope this business thrives. There are maybe 3 places in town to eat, but I will choose this one again because of the people and the cheese enchilada!
Food was delicious!!!!!
Ate here a few times when I lived in Chiang Mai and I can attest that this barbecue is authentic. It's tough to find real American meat in Thailand, so you reach a point where you juste CRAVE the taste. This place was a lifesaver!
Me and some friends stumbled upon this little restaurant and had the most amazing ribs and duck breast. the sides were average but the main dishes was worth the money.
Hello Norm, Thank-you for your rating and feedback. We glad to hear you enjoyed your fajitas, they are our specialty! Hope you can come back again soon, patios open tomorrow!!! The Lone Star Team
Go there. Get the meat and pay extra for the buns. Best meal.. I swear. Also, the Mac and cheese is just the way I want it. Apple pie and ice cream is heavenly!
Excellent food the owner was really kind my gf wouldn’t eat the brisket because it was too spicy for her and he did not charge us for it
Stayed down the street from Lone Star while on holidays and ate there several times. The location is very convenient and the service was awesome. Oh, and the food was good too! Would definitely recommend the coconut pie and enchiladas!
The best stew chicken on the island! The coconut cream pie is amazing as well. we tried the stuffed jalapenos but they were deep fried and had a little too much breading for our liking.
Great Food. Ribs were delicious and the potato salad was some of the best I’ve ever had- definitely the best in Asia. My only improvement would be to get some high chairs so families can enjoy the food more fully with kids strapped in :)

It was a little dark when we found it as it seems a little hidden. Had the ribs, Mac & cheese and it was melt in your mouth good. It’s a small friendly family run restaurant worth having a dinner here for a good beef bbq fix while away from home. Thanks guys as we enjoyed our time and food at your place. Enjoy...
Hi StephanToronto, Thank you for your kind comments! See you again soon, The Lone Star Team
Awesome food and great service. If you want real BBQ - and who doesn’t - this is the place to go. He really pays attention to the quality of the meat. That matters. The sauce is tangy and the sides are really good. Also, get the apple pie. You may need to rest from gorging on BBQ but take the time to wait and have the apple pie, of course with ice cream. The resultant is simple and clean, with the focus on the food - like it should be!
Food and service is pretty good here. We ate in the bar and had drink and apps. I would return. Chips and salsa were tasty
Hard to see why this place gets such rave reviews. The restaurant feels like a scruffy garage, the food is ‘rusitc’ in the extreme and although not poor in quality, it’s nothing to get excited about. The proprietor stands out front chain smoking cigarettes until he takes your meat off the grill and slaps it on the table. There’s far better places to get the same type of imported food in Chiang Mai for the same price, with higher quality and nicer surroundings.
