I love Roper’s. They’re a community staple from their friendly staff to their great breakfasts, lunch and dinners. I love their fried chicken, chicken fried steaks, and smothered pork chops. And I can grab my pantry staples here as well. This is what a local store should be. Perfect.
Service was friendly and helpful. They use soybean oil so I had limited options. I ended up ordering a BBQ baked potato. The meat seemed to have been previously frozen and the sauce tasted weird. The potato itself wasn't cooked thoroughly. They were happy to add chicken instead of beef to my son's nachos and my toddler enjoyed the Mac and cheese, fries, and chocolate chip cookies. Husband enjoyed his hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and okra. My water was never refilled....
First time here and I know I’ll be back! The biscuits are amazing. I had them covered with sausage gravy. Yum! Calories, who cares! The coffee was strong and good, not watery like some places. The service was relaxed which gave my dining partner and me time to chat. My only reason for not giving five stars is that the bathroom needed some attention. All in all it was a really good way to start a day.
