Most authentic german food I’ve had since I was stationed there. Everything is handmade and homemade from scratch. From the bread to dinner and desert, it was all delicious. The owners were on site and super friendly. This place is an absolute hidden gem. Well worth the drive!

Everyone needs to give Oma’s a try. I Swung in on a Friday a picked up the special of the day. Knockwurst, red cabbage, and potato salad. Knockwurst was great. Cabbage was cooked perfectly and the potato salad was the best authentic German potato salad I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to stop again and try something else

Incredible authentic German dishes in little ole Smiley. Our group tried 4 different items with different sides- you just can't go wrong on any choice. I got the mueltischon (sp I'm sure) which looks like oversized ravioli and it was delicious. The big winner was the Jaeger schnitzel- I dream about it now. They have homemade bread that you can buy to eat at the table. The desserts, esp. the blueberry torte, were perfectly not too sweet. We will have to go back. Make reservations!

Worth the Drive! Authentic German Food and Incredible Hospitality
My mother and I drove all the way from Killeen to Smiley just to experience the authentic German food at Oma's Schnitzel Ranch, and hands-down, it was worth every mile! The moment we walked in, the atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming.
We visited for my mom's birthday, and the staff truly went above and beyond to make her day special. When we arrived at our table, they had already placed a balloon there—a thoughtful detail we absolutely didn't ask for! After dinner, they surprised her with a delicious piece of cake and a candle.
The food itself was the real deal; it tasted like genuine, hearty German cooking. The incredible hospitality and amazing service, combined with the top-notch food, made this birthday celebration unforgettable. If you're looking for an authentic meal and a place that treats its guests like family, this is it. We’ll definitely be back!

WOW! Great food!!! Desserts, breads, and entrees. I had the goulash There was spaetzle, red cabbage, and the beloved dumplings !!!! There was schnitzel, and little sausages from Germany Ample amounts. They use China. Very nice plate. It’s just a little dive in smiley Tx with delicious food by some retired folks who bake and make dinners. Make a reservation for a Saturday. You will be glad you did !!!

Stopped by for lunch and tried a variety of dishes. The pork medallions were bursting with flavor and the green beans were perfectly tender and seasoned. I also tried the German Goulash and the beef practically melted in my mouth. Highly recommend this restaurant!
