Food had no flavor, didn’t taste like authentic Mexican food. Was pricey for 2 people.

Don’t go here. Don’t waste your time and money. THE WORST service I’ve ever seen. & the Host was super annoyed bc we asked to be seated by a plug bc our grandmother has Oxygen and needed to charge her machine. Not to mention literally the worst margarita I’ve ever had. Invest in margarita glasses, it’s not that hard. Put more effort into your establishments appearance because what it looks like now is just gross and pathetic. Do better.

I’ve been a patron on and off for over 45 years. Family owned/operated. My faves are the Spanish Inn Special, the ribeye steak, and a Chilton. If I’m in town I always stop in.

Didn’t even want to give it any stars Absolutely the worst experience ever.. to start of we ordered jalapeño poppers from the menu it said it was jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and fried however the waitress explained before we ordered they are not bacon wrapped and stuff with cream cheese, then she brought out something that was supposed to be salsa, however it was just water and tomato sauce with chuncka of jalapeños and onions in it. The we ordered our food my husband got chicken enchilada plate and the waitress told us it’s 2 dollars extra for rice and beans the I ordered a taco salad. I was flabbergasted when the brought a salad out with ranch dressing and not in a fried tortilla. I told her I did not want it and had it taken off our bill.. my husband food was nasty as well we explained that to her as well. His rice was mushy and way over cooked . She would not take his food off he literally had two bites. It was 14$ just to get out there.. NEVER AGAIN. And I do not recommend to eat there EVER

Husband and I stopped here for dinner on our way from Lubbock to Abilene. We were looking for another Mexican food place that we could not find via GPS and had passed by The Spanish Inn, so thought we would give it a try. There were lots of cars in the parking lot which is usually a good sign. The food was terrible. The salsa was watered down tomato juice with a few chunks of tomato and onion in it. I love green sauce and their menu raved about using grandmother's recipe from 1943, so I ordered the green beef enchiladas. There was absolutely no spice/heat to those enchiladas which had very little ground beef in them and had mushy corn tortillas. The cheese on them was cheap, yellow cheese. The rice looked like it had been ground up and had as little flavor as the stiff refried beans. The wait staff was nice but it doesn't make up for the food. Also, my husband ordered a beer since I was doing the driving. They asked if he wanted it dressed with salt and lime - which he likes. Expecting to get a mug or glass, he was surprised to received a beer bottle that had been dipped in salt with a lime sticking out of the top.
