Went on Thanksgiving and had the BEST breakfast burrito, large and fresh, loved it so much! The service was awesome. Very happy we stopped in!

Had a build it yourself breakfast burrito, which is a great option for a vegetarian.
Vegetarian options: Told owner I was vegetarian, he steered me to pick the right options. Even asked if eggs/cheese/milk were ok.

I can confidently say that Breaking Bread Burrito Express serves up the best burritos on South Padre Island! Their ‘build-your-own’ style is perfect—you get to choose exactly what goes into your burrito, similar to ordering at Subway, but way more flavorful!
The highlight of my visit was the incredible hospitality. The owner himself made my burrito, and he genuinely made me feel like the most important customer in the world. He was warm, friendly, and took the time to chat with me, which really made my day. And the burrito? Absolutely huge, packed with flavor, and hands down the best I’ve had in ages. I devoured the whole thing and felt amazing.

I should of ordered a small bowl....
This large breakfast bowl was enormous!
There are so many options when you build your bowl or burrito.
Everything tasted authentic and fresh.
Staff were welcoming and inviting.
We sat on the patio in front of the restaurant and were told they also run a food truck nearby.
Atmosphere was about average for a faster food restaurant.

I recently visited Burrito Express with my service dog, who is well-behaved and has never caused issues elsewhere.
Unfortunately, we were immediately told, “we don’t let animals here,” without any attempt to understand the situation. This interaction felt unnecessarily dismissive and unwelcoming.
It would be helpful if staff were trained on how to address service animals professionally to create a more inclusive environment.

Delicious food and affordable for the Island, locals get a discount. My favorite is the bowl. Their sodas in a bottle are too pricey for me $4 for a 16 ounce.

First time visiting, before even entering the wonderful appetizing scents won us over when just walking outside, we were welcomed with wonderful smiles, attention to detail and what we quickly found out were masters of their craft.
Ordering was a breeze and we could easily tell the ingredients were indeed fresh.
The very well seasoned meats (I ordered a carnitas burrito) married very well with the creamy pinto beans, Spanish rice and a splash of green salsa.
For a couple of seconds I thought a was a little kid again eating at my abuelitas house
This was a whole experience in itself that I do highly recommend to anyone. Definitely blown away and look forward to coming back. Thank you

Had a great experience! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly face. The owner was super helpful and explained the process of customizing the burrito. The fillings were delicious and filling. The flour tortilla didn’t feel too heavy compared to others I’ve tried, they have 3 different options to choose from so in the future I’ll definitely try the others. They recently added baked potatoes (the process of customizing is the same as a burrito) so that’s another item to check out.
