This is not a non-smoking hotel. Their ad on Expedia claims that this is a non-smoking property. It still contains that falsehood. If you are on the first floor the smoke from the people standing right outside your door are sucked into your room by the old style AC unit that is floor level and a foot from them. So much smoke that it chokes you. Staff smoke right in front of the AC units, a foot from your room. They are very aware that smoke comes into the "non-smoking" rooms from the A/C units in the front and the chain smokers on the other side. There were also noxious fumes coming from the drain. On one of the last days I was there the ceiling in the bathroom in the adjacent room fell down on the people there. They let me take a picture. The maid service is hostile if you are a long term tenant. I ran multiple air cleaners, and used towels and other things to cover the fumes from the drain. I even bought a respirator. The fumes made me sick and I ended up needing breathing treatments and drove to Brownsville for Urgent Care because of the cigarette smoke. I paid for long term but left early. The manager is a nice "Zen" lady but when you tell her about a problem she just says this is an old property. She doesn't fix anything. She is aware that other people said there were issues in some of the rooms with drain odors. They should engage in some honesty in advertising. Pros: This is a beautifully located old property on the beach with a refrigerator. Cons: It stinks of cigarette smoke and fumes so much so that if you have asthma or reactive air disease you will become sick- even with multiple air cleaners. There are fumes that come from the drain. Part of the ceiling may fall on you. The dishes smell of mildew and having been wiped with dirty rag. Huge roach in the light fixture in the bathroom also covered with dust. The maid service is bizarrely hostile - don't dare request an extra towel - in a sane world they would be fired. They charge more for pets because of "cleaning" but they don't clean your room because the pets are there. I got a different bag of towels, face cloths and soap every time. One day they were behind in the wash and just brought me a couple things. When I went to ask for the rest, the maid who should be fired had a fit. If you like cigarette smoke and don't mind strong fumes coming from the bathroom drain- this "resort" is for you. I wish someone with good management skills would take this over, fire the current maid staff, fix the plumbing and make it truly non-smoking. It could be a nice place.
clean, neat, modern, and an excellent place to stay and meet people, Staff is pleasant professional and a lot of fun to talk to. They have a Cafe right on premise that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. You can walk out to the beach plus they have an out door heated pool. it's handicap excessable there are two floors that you can view the water coming in and the sun rises and sun sets. You could also walk to various attractions and rent a scooter. I give it 200 % place to go
The food was great each time we went. We did go during the week right after school started in August so there was always a table. Servers were all friendly and responsive. Peaceful little spot next to the beach.

Love this beautiful little cafe. Great food with some daily specials. They have a good happy hour margarita too. Be aware that it can get pretty busy on weekend mornings.

Nice small cozy & quaint place looking over the beach. Excellent margarita's, Lobster tail and peel & eat shrimp. Aaron, was a great server, thank you. You're inside with open air seating. You'll have to chase of a few flies, but they don't overtake you. I will eat here again!
Parking: Restaurant is in the back of the hotel. Parking is tight but worth it
