The best place I have eaten at South Padre. The Mexican food is authentic and burgers and fries were excellent! If y’all get tired of kitschy over price fare. I can recommend their place with authentic beach vibe! Go see Tosha and the rest of the awesome crew, great people with even greater food.

First time here during Easter weekend and the service was amazing from entering to us getting seated and being attended. Very clean & cozy. Ordered the fried fish basket with fries & food was hot & super good! Our server Maria was awesome very attentive on refilling drinks and answering our questions on the menu. 10/10 recommend!

Came here for lunch with my family. The kids loved their food and the place. I got the beef enchilada plate and it was really good, except for the cheese smelled and tasted rotten. :( I had to scrape it off and only have the tortillas with the beef inside.

Although the server was nice, the food was not good. I ordered the special, shrimp scampi and couldn't eat it. There was so much grease/butter in the bowl. The waitress offered to replace it with mahi mahi, which was grilled but also laid in a pool of ? I was also charged for the higher priced mahi mahi. I should have known not to go there when it was nearly empty.

Where to start, admittedly waitress was having a bad day. First day back after absence. She couldn't answer (correctly) about fish on menu. We ordered and repeatedly had to ask to get order right. She tried to wrap up orders before taking my order. 3 people at table. Never got saleds that was ordered. Appetizer came with meal not before.Food. 1 person did not get fish She thought she ordered, didn't finish fish as was not good. My wife and I ordered Thu steak special. Steak was very thin and small and not cooked to order.No French dressing, Appetizer mushrooms were good, baked potatoes were good. When presented with Bill She apologized for what went wrong and said she took salads off bill. But price remained same.We wanted to leave so took check to pay at bar, only to have waitress run out door and asked if we paid.Terrible dining experience.
Just really good food! Service was outstanding too. We have tried several restaurants on the island and Jake's by far the best! The chicken sandwich was insanely good!

Not excellent, but not bad, either. Everyone liked their food, but the menu wasn't anything unique. Wait staff seemed a bit rushed. They automatically add 18% gratuity for 6+ which I think is restrictive. English wasn't the first language, so when my wife wanted to swap beef for chicken on the Nacho Grande, they wanted an additional $8.50. We finally got that sorted out. Overall, just not a smooth visit.Again,nothing horrible. Just normal. There are so many places to eat, so restaurants need to upscale if they want to stand out.
