We REALLY wanted to like this place. It's super cute, but if you're going to tote yourself as a breakfast/lunch place, you need a good, scratch made breakfast/lunch menu. This place used freezer biscuits (tasted like a Grands knockoff), freezer cinnamon rolls, freezer hash browns. Nothing we had besides the eggs, tasted like it was from the freezer. The eggs could have been liquid eggs from a carton. We all ordered breakfast dishes and the only one that was happy with what they got was the breakfast burrito. The staff was in way over their head, but really nice. But the large group that got seated and ordered AFTER us, got their food before we did. This place could be amazing if they put the effort in. Heck, we could teach them how to make scratch biscuits that are WAY more cost effective than freezer biscuits and fresh made bread that will have customers coming back. Unfortunately, this is a place we will not eat at again. We might return to try some of the food "trucks" that are around there, but not Darlene's.

OMG! Was this place yummy! We went for the late part of breakfast, and everything was delicious. I had the candied bacon for appetizer and this amazing grilled cheese… everything was very simply done and done well. Love it! Found our new favorite breakfast place in the area!

We would not recommend this place. It’s cute, but the food is extremely disappointing. The “home fries” are the exact same frozen hash browns we get from Walmart, except these weren’t cooked all the way. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito (which was worse than ones he has had from a gas station). It came with a side salad that was just a pile of spring mix with a cup of dressing on the side. 1, that’s not a salad. 2, why are you serving a side salad with a breakfast burrito?! You could’ve done hash browns or something more appropriate for breakfast.

I really wanted to like this place but it was awful on so many level’s. If you’re looking for everything a true country brunch restaurant has to offer this is NOT your place. Orange juice was disappointing, clearly from a cheap concentrate mix. My girlfriends lemonade tasted disgusting. Coffee was so below average. No creamer or suger on the table or offered to me. I had to ask and no refill. Again disappointing. They totally gave us the wrong breakfast when it finally came, waiter had put someone else’s order on our table. The eggs were gross. The bacon looked and tasted like it had been cooked the day before. The hash potatoes were so incredibly bland. No salt or pepper in plain sight to even try to fix what had gone wrong in the kitchen. I’ve had better food served to me at a hospital. Honestly no joke. Whoever owns this place y’all need to get it together. This is tough love for you all because with this location and the atmosphere in general there is no reason this place can’t have it all.

The Avoacado toast was tasty. The service needs improvement. Silver not given before the meal arrived. They were friendly but not very welcoming.

Don’t come here on Sunday. For $16.95 you can have COLD eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast, and hash browns on a plastic plate and eat with a plastic fork. They were all out of bacon. The server could care less once you’re sitting down.. Had to ask twice for ketchup, salt, and pepper, and it was brought to us 10minutes after we sat down. Asked about gravy and bacon to hear “it’s coming right out”. There was practically no one there. The server was focused on cleaning another table rather than ask us how we were doing or if we needed anything. Never got the bacon or gravy. Coffee tasted like lukewarm Folgers and they give you milk in a little to go ramekin. Whut.I don’t mean to bash this place but come on. This review can serve as a wake up call. You can’t be charging people $16.95 for cold food. I’m sure they can do better.

First time to visit. I had previously seen raving reviews and wait times, sit down breakfast with table service and menus. Our first clue things weren’t great was at 8:30am in the morning, parking lot was empty. Once we arrived we were told it was breakfast buffet day and we had to pay up front. THIRTY SIX DOLLARS for 2 buffets with burnt coffee. We thought, wow, the buffet must be amazing since it is so expensive. Nope. Cold, scrambled eggs, burnt soggy pancakes, …. All on styrofoam plates with a fork (no spoons or knives, salt or pepper) We left hungry, decaffeinated and sorry we had come. Some tourists walked in as we were walking out, excited to try the place, but when they saw the buffet, they left. We understand staffing issues, but there are better ways. Do fresh to order omelets, etc… Never returning, sorry to say. We wanted to support local but it was ridiculous.

Have eaten here twice in the last couple months. The first time was good. I had the eggs benedict. Then we went last weekend and sorry to say it was not good. They’re doing a breakfast buffet on weekends and it was very much like a mediocre hotel continental breakfast. Steam tables full of soggy or dried out food. $17 per person. Zach, one of the servers was nice and that, plus the location at The District is why I give it two stars. Hopefully they turn things around otherwise we won’t be back.

So weird and kinda sad to see the recent reviews I go here at least 2 times a week and it’s amazing! I don’t ever write reviews but after seeing the two most recent reviews I felt I had too . Yes the servers here do kinda suck but I love the food . I have never had a bad plate here . The one lady talking about the waffle must have no taste buds because this is the best waffle I’ve ever had and feel the prices are on par especially in this economic climate. I find it crazy how people can take time out of there day to bash a local small business online when it’s basically impossible to stay in business right now with the lack of labor and the higher prices for everything! People need to take the time to write the owners not bash them on line . Especially if you are the one lady that said she has been here before and it was great . If it was great your first time but not your second time maybe write a private message to the owners on like face book or something instead of posting a bad review it really makes me sad for humanity that there is people out there like that . Well that’s my rant . Thanks for the great food Darlenes I’ll be a customer for life!

We’ve been twice and I would say get either the burger or the pancakes! Both are delicious. We tried the breakfast plates and they were pretty bland. Not really worth the price.I’m not sure if they have more than one waiter but we got Zach both times, and he’s a sweet guy. Just expect a wait from the kitchen, even if you’re the only ones there.

Always an amazing experience at Darlene’s! I have never had pancakes as delicious as the ones they serve. The Benedict is incredible. Never had a bad experience here. Highly recommend

Food presentation seemed a little rushed, but tasted great. Over-easy eggs were perfect. Waffle, a little flat from what I was expecting, bacon was perfectly crisp. Only things that kind of bothered me was the visibly dirty silverware, crumbs on a table we were told to sit at, and my coffee was filled with the pot completely sitting on the rim of my mug...where I put my lips. Really gross if that's being done to all the patrons' mugs. Ambiance is cute though. Worth another shot for us at least.

Delicious breakfast! Eggs Benedict, French toast, veggie omelet, breakfast taco all yummy! You think you don’t need the sour dough side toast they offer you but it is an extra surprise. It has a little sweetness to it & sooo good!

Rude customer service. Waitress said she had "other tables to attend. I only have 2 hands." People were willing to to wait, but after that aloud comment, 3 tables including ours stood up and left. It's understandable that during these times places are short staffed, and we are willing to give our business to you and wait, but we're not willing to pay for rude customer service.

Family owned and operated. Great friendly service. The Maggie's special with Pico de Gallo is the bomb. One of my favorite breakfast places in the area!
