Screaming Goat Yard & Tap

An honest review from a New Orleans native. The presentation was beautiful however the mark was missed. Beignets that looked and tasted like fried biscuit dough. Cracklin was far from authentic Cajun, closer to chicharron. It’s is more of a hipster environment disguised as Cajun. Also the lack of a roast beef poboy on any Cajun menu should be an instant rule out of said restaurant, lesson learned. $130 for food we barely touched because we simply didn’t enjoy it, it was far from the taste of home.

A laid back date night at the Screaming Goat Yard & Tap in Spring Branch. We got the XL Bavarian pretzel that came with beer cheese and creole mustard, chicken and sausage gumbo, and a “muffy” or muffuletta chopped salad. The portions were generous, and the food, drinks, and service were all on point during our visit—even with the restaurant being pretty busy. After dinner, we went outside to pet the goats on location and listen to live music.

Honestly terrible customer service. The hostess informed me and my party that there was open seating outside and then once we found a table to sit at a manager came over to tell us that there has never been open seating. Completely understand it was because of the rush but the manager was very rude and had a condescending tone. Honestly do not recommend based off the staff.

Wow! This place is definitely in my top ten eats of the SA Area. Family of three, ordered each a full size meal, two drinks, and an appetizer all for about $60. The food was amazing! The service (our server Clay) was amazing! I will definitely be back and 100% recommend this place to family and friends.
