I used to love coming here but you can tell they started skimping on certain things, I don't mind paying for extra sauce but I would love to get my money's worth when I do pay for the extra sauce rather than not even 1/2 of the sauce cup being filled. I messaged someone before on instagram regarding the issue and it was resolved temporarily however it seems that they are just very cheap. If you want some extra white sauce worth your money they sell a tub of it in HEB.

I called them because I wanted to make sure they have a halal certification, but the person on the phone spoke to me very rudely. He raised his voice and acted as if my question was unreasonable. I simply wanted to proof the information, and the way I was treated was very unprofessional.
Whoever answered the phone on Friday, 11/21/2025 at 9:50 PM was extremely rude. We will not visit your place anymore, and we will not order from you through Uber Eats or DoorDash either. Most places say their food is “halal,” but simply not serving pork does not make it halal. You must have proper certification and proof of it.

I've loved Abu Omar Halal for a long time. Now that they have these new boxes. The food taste horrible. The hot food absorbs the waxy box taste and smell. I've tried to call and no one picked up. This box ruins the food. It tastes like a waxy cardboard box.
