My boyfriend and I enjoyed a nice dinner last night here . I was very impressed with the presentation of the dishes and the flavors of the food . We had empanadas de carne as an appetizer They were crispy and filled with abundant pieces of meat . I also had a couple of sancocho de gallina , it was absolutely delicious, it reminded me of my grandmas soups . They churrasco was cooked perfectly. I can honestly say that I am happy the new owners are caring on the good sazón they always had .Congratulations and best luck !! You have a great place !

I just had probably one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences. I used to be a regular here and bring/refer quite a bit of people. Food used to be incredible, place used to be welcoming, staff used to be ultra attentive. I dare to say this WAS one of the best Colombian restaurants in Texas. It’s a shame how under the new owners this is nothing more than a MEDIOCRE restaurant that is trying way too hard to be a bar with over-priced food that don’t match the quality of the facilities or the food. Here’s a few highlights:- Taste is really poor. It’s not even close to Colombian taste anymore. I wouldn’t call this a Colombian restaurant- Menu got reduced to a couple of generic options- Prices are WAY TOO HIGH for the type of food- Restaurant is now very dark and non-welcoming- Staff is still nice and attentiveI understand there’s business decisions every new owner needs to make a restaurant more financially healthy, but I think these people killed what made this place great. Likewise, I understand the strategic benefits of reducing the menu, but the few things left aren’t even that great. Once again, this is no more than a mediocre restaurant trying to be a mediocre bar charging prices as if they were better. Shame! Not coming or referring people again.

I used to come to this please and the food used to be amazing, for my surprise it’s my first time since they are under new management for my surprised they changed the menu a lot, and I ordered Lomo saltado I ordered well done for my surprise they bring me the meat all red, the service was not good at all, the waitress only came twice to the table to take the order and when she brought the food. First and last time under new Managment and last, we will miss the good food they used to have

Good place have been here twice. The food is good and the waitress was very knowledgeable of menu and was able to give good recommendations. Had a bussiness meeting and the place was the perfect setting. Good atmosphere.

The food is great here and the only thing they could do better at is taking over the phone orders a little better . I ordered some sides and it took me talking to 5 different people. Just to order some sides … if you order via phone make sure you ask what the price is before placing your order. They charged me $4 per chorizo. Other restaurants charge under $4 or give you two chorizos for that price.

Terrible service, took 15 minutes to take our drink orders and after we order our food took almost one hour for anyone to acknowledge us (our food didn't even come out yet). Restaurant wasn't busy at all, three other people sitting down with two waiters, at that point we didn't want the food, i paid for the drinks and left. I always want to support local businesses but with this service, you will be lucky to stay in business. Used visit El Meson quite often before they went under new management, bring back old management. This place just right down sucks. Message to ownership, hire people that actually cares. Good luck.
I used to visit this restaurant very often, but I had to move and it was difficult for me to come again. After a while I came back expecting to find the food so wonderful and that I liked so much before, but I saw that they have a new management, so, I wanted to give it a try. It was a terrible mistake. The service was very slow, the juices tasted like water, the empanadas were smaller, the beans had no flavor, and the meat couldn't be chewed.I never make a review but the owner needs to know this to correct the mistakes of the new management.

Everytime I come to this restaurant I order Bandeja Paisa, this time the fam order chicken and beef salad. My Bandeja Paisa was very good, the portions are small, but great taste.
