Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q

Rudy's is probably the best deal you can get for good barbecue anywhere. They may not be winning Michelin stars, but they win hearts on the daily. The moist brisket, sausage, and ribs are always winners, and they have excellent sides. The line is often out the door and for good reason.

Last time around I also tried the prime rib. It's good, but get it thin cut. The plastic knives they offer at the restaurant make this a little hard to eat (maybe bring your own knife?).

I visit Rudy's for lunch on 6/25/25,I ordered the half chicken for lunch, I noticed the chicken was old very dry and burned, and was cold.and they forgot to give me the beans I ordered, I think they have to many people working in the back of counter,and they are not paying attention and the last two times, I been in there you can't even smell the smoke, I think they are starting to boil.

Probably the best chain BBQ restaurant in Houston. The sides take the meats to another level. The ribs pulled easily away from the bone without falling off the bone. Picnic style eating. The brisket was flavorful. However, the flats were a little dry. Their sausages were incredible. I really enjoyed them all, but the jalapeño cheddar sausage stole the show. The potato salad and cream corn are just incredible. We will definitely be back. The staff are friendly and efficient, the line moved very quick.

One of the best chains for BBQ in Texas. Sauces are spicy. All solid choice = Brisket, smoked prime rib, chicken and 2 pork rib options. Cream corn is the stand out side dish. Good iced tea.

When you need bbq sauce for brisket, something is wrong. Over the years, this place has gone downhill. I am updating my review to reflect that.

Unfortunately, a part of my online order was incorrect. Potatoe salad instead of coleslaw. Pickles instead of lemons. Bummer. This order was in Oct. Trying it again Nov.16...another online order. We'll see what happens...just picked up my order. Perfection!!! I'm so happy! All 5 stars

Had moist Brisket, Ribs and Prime Rib.
The Brisket was phenomenal! The Ribs were delicious, but the Prime Rib was a not good - they sliced it thick so it was a bit chewy and plain.
Really liked the potatoe salad, and I also had the coleslaw but didn't like it.

Service was great, and I would totally come back for the brisket.

It was really fun! You order what you want by the pound. We got Brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. We also got some coleslaw, and corn on the cob. It came with bread slices. The food was excellent! The atmosphere was really fun! You get some butcher paper, Cover the table with it, and that's your plate. You eat off the butcher paper. When you are finished eating you roll up the butcher paper and throw it in the garbage. Loved it!
