OK, so the Butler House is down the street from my house so it's very convenient. I'll say a few things about the ambience. It's a quaint old house that's recently been repainted and so it's got a nice brunch or breakfast or even lunch type cute vibe. But for dinner, I find that the restaurant seems a bit hot on warm nights. They retrofitted the house with mobile air-conditioning units that don't always work well and are a little bit unsightly and noisy. Now let's talk about the food. The food is average to above average generally. I have never had an experience there where I went. "Wow this is a really great restaurant"! But on the other hand, I've never had the opposite. So the menu is kind of limited and they have their specials. I would definitely ask the waiter or waitress what they recommend that day. The food is also quite pricey for the most part, as well as the drinks. But that's to be expected in a finer restaurant in 2024, especially since they have expanded this restaurant and added a big back deck with a place for kids to play and families to hang out and they have live music. I believe music nite is on Thursdays and they also host groups, and other family - oriented events throughout the week, including movies & sports games which they show outside on their giant screen TV. As far as service, this is the area I feel like they could improve the most. It seems every time I go there there's new staff, especially wait staff. For whatever reason there's a lot of turnover and it does affect the service, the attitude, and the overall experience of the place. I believe that this restaurant could be great if they could just make a solid investment in improving it and making it a great place-like getting the AC done correctly. Paying their staff and cooking staff/chef really well so they don't want to leave. Adding better items and more variety to the menu as well as the drink menu. And fixing a few of these things that I mentioned above which make Butler house just OK.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant was not full, maybe half of the tables were occupied yet we were told the kitchen was very backed up and took 20 minutes just to get bread. When we did get our dishes, one was salty and the other was bland. Both were a complete disappointment. The service was also very inattentive, to the point where we almost left initially. Will definitely not be going back here.

This was my second visit since they opened. I love that they have a mixture of ambiences: classy indoor seating, contemporary outdoor area and bar, as well as a monster TV with a large seating area for sports. The service was top notch, and my Grey goose martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives went down nicely. I had the Chicken Chipotle Pasta without the pico and strips. SO good!

After four different people suggested The Butler House for a nice dinner, we took a chance and got reservations for a Saturday evening. Very romantic, rustic vibe upon arrival. Service was timely and friendly. We were celebrating our recent marriage, so they gave complimentary champagne to start which was a nice touch. Food was absolutely delicious. We started with lamb lollipops which were amazing. Main courses were also cooked to perfection. I always order my filets and tenderloins blued (Pittsburgh style), and I can add this restaurant to the list of places in the country that properly know how to blue a steak: seared exterior, cold purple center, melt in your mouth. My husband had the sliced tenderloin and asparagus with a side of lobster mac. He devoured it all. Dessert was also unique and delicious. Carrot cake was not traditional, but in a delightful way: not too sweet, not too heavy. Husband had peach cobbler which didn't last long. Overall, we had a fantastic time! Only ONE thing I'd change: after it began getting busier, the inside began getting overly warm. It was tolerable for the cooler weather outside, but we both wished they'd had a little cooler temps inside. Wouldn't deter us from returning, though.

We wanted to try The Butler House after passing by it recently, so we tried it today. We were not disappointed. Our server, Brandon recommended several items to try, but we wanted to stay with something simple. We look forward to our next visit.

Love the ambiance. Food is great! As well as wines! It's a great place for a friends gathering or a celebration.

Pros: great place for kids to run around, lots of space, casual. Cons: food is mediocre, service is mediocre, tables are dirty (especially patio) and food is very expensive --for mediocre food and service (dinner is $25-45 per plate).

I had the short rib grilled cheese. It was ok. Would have loved a bit more protein on the sandwich and a bit more cheese but nevertheless not bad. The apple old fashioned was the bomb.

The Butler House has added a lunchtime service and changed general managers since I last reviewed it, so I went back to try a noon meal. I ended up getting a brunch item, the short rib hash, with a cup of coffee. The restaurant itself looks very similar to what it did when it opened. They have a lot of seating inside and out. It is upscale but not overly fancy, but fine dining is still their focus. The short rib hash is rib meat and rough cut potatoes in a wonderfully rich sauce--a very dark gravy with just a hint of Worcestershire sauce, perfect for a brunch. I ordered it with Texas toast and scrambled eggs. The eggs were fine, the toast was very representative. But the hash--oh, the hash. It looks more like a beef stew. Very tender with plenty of that sauce soaking the meat and potatoes. It's satisfying and unique, I've had nothing like it anywhere else, and it stands out to me as the most creative item on the brunch menu so I can highly recommend it. Service is appropriately upscale. I had a server but the manager did most of the service as the restaurant was very quiet when I was there. There was an issue with my table--it was rocking a bit--but they fixed that right up. I wouldn't change my original rating--4.5 and round it up.
