If I lived in San Marcos, this would be my go to sandwich spot. Kind of like a schloksky’s sandwich but way better. 10/10!

Today I made the drive over to Springtown to grab lunch at Alvin Ord's Sandwich Shop Springtown Texas, and let me tell you — it was absolutely worth it! If you haven’t been yet, I highly encourage you to check them out. Their sandwiches and salads are delicious, and they even have Take & Bake options for an easy dinner at home. You’ll also find an ice cream and dirty soda station, plus sweet treats like banana pudding and sopapilla cheesecake that you won’t want to skip.
The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming — there’s even a bookshelf full of games, perfect for spending a little extra time laughing and relaxing with your family or friends.
And beyond all that, the owner truly has a heart of gold. She goes above and beyond for others in the community, which makes supporting them even more meaningful.
If you’re looking for great food and even better people, Alvin Ords in Springtown is a must-visit. ❤️ #SupportLocal #SpringtownEats

First visit and we really enjoyed it. The bread is so tasty and the sandwiches are fresh! I had chicken salad and my husband had the Ruben. We will be back. Thank you!

I've indulged in the delicious sandwiches that this place makes for awhile now, (The Quill is my go to!! 12 out of 10 stars!!! THEIR BREAD, Y'ALL. 🤤) but I've never been lucky enough to come when the Take and Bake fridge was stocked. My hours are pretty much the same of Alvin Ord's but this past Friday (8/22/25) I had to have a minor surgery procedure so my husband drove me and we had off work. We were leaving and he asked what I wanted to eat... I LIT. UP. bc I realized we could go to Alvin Ord's and I was just praying they had their fridge loaded up.
It was pretty picked over by the time we got there but I got the two I have been dying to try: Chicken Spaghetti and Marry Chicken Cheese Tortellini Take and Bakes.
Chicken Spaghetti is already gone with us and our neighbors giving it a 5/5🌟. The Marry Me Chicken is cooling and it def ain't gonna last the weekend, y'all. My kitchen smells amazing and I barely had to lift a finger (which is great for being post surgery)! 😂
This place is amazing, not only with their fantastic sandwiches and also the Take and Bakes AND they are heavy into the community to make it better and give back. They deserve all the accolades and more.
Thank you, Alvin Ord's!! Can't wait to visit again!! 😋

Yall need to hire someone else to run the register or someone who can make mutiple items at once as to help speed up the process. 20 minute turn around time for a sandwich is wild.

Horrible, waited over 25 minutes for a sandwich. Asked for pickles mustard only, got it fully loaded. Disappointed, thought I found a good spot for lunch.

I came here with friends on a quick trip. Other reviewers commented the meat portions were skimpy! Yes, the portions were skimpy! I ordered a roast beef, only to be told they were out of roast beef! I ordered a pastrami & it had only one slice of meat, what a rip-off! And my son ordered a philly cheesesteak. How could he do that since they were out of roast beef! That tells me their beef was pre-prepped! How this place stays in business amazes me! Not going back!
I love the chicken salad sandwiches. They also have a variety of Take & Bake casseroles that are so good and help out on weeknight meals.
Sorry to report but my 13 dollar medium Philly did not live up to the hype. Although I appreciated the “home cooked” aspect of it, what I got was a sandwich with a lot of bread and very thin layer of meat. For that reason it tasted more like a roll than a Philly. Good for profits but bad for business. Maybe it was just an off day. Might try again.

First time stopping here. Took a little bit for someone to greet us and wait on us. Have a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from. Although what we wanted to get they were out of or didn't have all the items listed on sandwiches. The sandwiches were very bland at best. The menu advertised French bread baked daily, wasn't the French bread I was expecting. Sandwiches were good size but kinda pricy. Ended up tossing 3/4 of my sandwich. They do serve Blue Bell ice cream there. Sadly will not be going back.
