I used to like this place but not anymore...The service has never been real great but it appears to have gotten worse with new hires. The young brunette female waitress was very slow and seemed to have an attitude the few times we asked for something.I found a long black hair in my chicken fried chicken when we reluctantly visited this past week. ?. This wasn't the 1st time. A few months prior there was a long brown hair in a grilled chicken salad pick up order. No more second chances. This is just nasty. Get a hair net on those cooks! Gross! ?

Homestyle dining, decent food, nice service. The fried pork chop has been very good both times I have recently eaten there. The sides are not amazing, but generally not bad except the 'Mac and cheese'. It was a bowl of elbow macaroni with a scoop of some sort of white cheese sauce plopped on top. Disgusting.

First time ever I have rated a place this low? First time ever I left NO TIP! We have been to this place a couple of times in the past, last time was a couple of years ago. Both time the food and service was great! This time not so much? After driving almost a hour to get there, we were disappointed. We were seated right away then we sat, and sat, and sat for about 10 minutes before someone came for our drink order. We understood, because they were pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. Finally someone came, we ordered drinks as well as put in our food order. Then nothing for at least 20 minutes? We sat, and we sat, and we sat, and we sat some more. Finally we were able to get our servers attention, who had been serving tables all around. We asked about our drinks, nothing complicated just sweet iced tea. We got a “sorry” and about another 5 minutes later we got our drinks. Another 15 minutes passed before our food came out. Served by the person who was doing seating. We then realized our order was wrong? She had chicken fried chicken and I had grilled pork chops. We both green beans with baked potato. What we got was mashed potatoes with toppings like a baked potato and my wife had no gravy for her chicken fried chicken. We elected to keep the potatoes we had and my wife requested some gravy which took at another 5 minutes to come out. The food was so so? Not bad, but not great like we had previously. The service here was definitely lacking considerably! We will not be darkening door of this establishment again!

Service is lacking. Three families stood waiting to be seated while the owners mom (she says) and two servers helped one woman who wasn't here to eat. I asked about being seated and wasn't greeted well by said owners mom. This review is not for all servers. Most are awesome. Courtney Jaz and Anna *and I'm sure there are more especially. Food is great as well. But if you can't get people seated they are going to leave.

Below is "Mac and cheese" picture. Mac and cheese is literally macaroni and unmelted grated cheese, no milk, no cream...DRY! Prime rib was very well done and unsure how it was cooked. Root beer was FLAT and water taste like dish water. Mixed veggies was the best thing we ate. We are not picky eaters, we ate it because we were tired from moving all day. We will not be back. I highly recommend not eating here.

Absolutely awful experience at Shinola’s for lunch today. All of our food came out at different times, the food was bland, absolutely no seasoning on anything. The catfish was rubbery and the hush puppies were severely undercooked. I ordered the lunch special, was charged for the dinner portion and they refused to adjust our bill. Our waitress spilled our son’s soup all over the floor next to our table and never came back to clean it up. And to top it all off, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. We will never be back!

First time eating at this place and we were very happy with the whole experience. The atmosphere was country charm, and the food was really good! We all had the chicken fried steak and it was cooked perfectly, with lots of cream gravy (cause that's the way you're supposed to eat it...right?) The sweet tea was sweet...just the way I like it! 4 stars for the food and atmosphere! We will definitely go back there!
This is a great place to eat. It's very relaxed with a down home atmosphere. I met my cousin there for supper and we stayed quite a while, but there was no pressure to leave or give up our table. There is a fantastic wait staff. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. The food was top notch with very generous amounts of everything. It has a real Texas flare with something for any kind of pallet. I give it all 5 stars.

Really good Chicken Fried Steak. They claim the best in the county, I can't verify that as I haven't had one anywhere else in the county but it's definitely a really good one. It's pretty big as well, you won't leave hungry. Fun little diner, we have gone twice and will visit again.

This was the best Cafe we have found in ages. Jasmine was our waitress, and she was awsome. The restaurant was truly Texas style...Our food was hot and delicious, and was served within minutes. Try their chicken fried steak! The small will feed 2. We were there on Friday, 4/29/2022 around 4pm, after attending my grandson's regional track meet. We loved it so much we took relatives there on Saturday after the track meet and they all loved the food. I wish we had you guys in Abilene!
