We ordered a pound of sliced brisket, 1/2 pound of ribs, 1/4 pound of sausage and 4 sides. We got a 1/2 pound of fat with the brisket. We have eaten there several times but expect more for $80 dollars with tip.

I’ve never been to the original and it was disappointing. I’ve always thought Hard 8 had really good barbecue. Not the best but solid! Today I found the service and food well below average. The employee cutting meat seemed frustrated I asked for brisket from the flat because that is my daughter’s favorite. Then he proceeded to SLICE IT WITH THE GRAIN! I’ve never seen this. It made average meat almost unbearable. I will not go to the original Hard 8 again, and I will avoid the ones in the metroplex. There are too many amazing barbecue restaurants in Texas to settle.

The service of a well trained and friendly staff is what sets this BBQ restaurant apart from some others. The atmosphere is comfortable country as well as being organized and clean. I got the brisket baked potato and the meat was finely chopped but lacked flavor. The Cole slaw was bland and the wheat bread was white bread.

It was a tad pricey, I paid $35 for a lb of sliced brisket, 2 sides, and a drink HOWEVER I would gladly pay that for delicious bbq over $20-$25 for dried out, hard brisket. This place serves some of the most moist, delicious brisket I’ve ever eaten. Would strongly recommend. And they had parking for my semi on the side of their building which was another perk!
Great Texas BBQ. It's spendy, but was very much worth it. Love how they have the grills and smokers going with all the delicious meats right out in front of you. They even gave me a sample. Gosh! I wish this place was down the street from my house 😆

We’ve been looking forward to eating at this original restaurant… only to be extremely disappointed. I ordered a brisket potato and I saw them cutting into a very juicy brisket only to put it aside when I ordered and pulled out this extra dry brisket that tasted old and dried edges. It was tough and hard. The potato wasn’t fully cooked either. What a huge disappointment… Burleson Hard 8’s never would do that. I can’t believe we drove an hour outta our way for this… you should never do that especially right in front of the customer!!!
