The food here was absolutely delicious and the service was very attentive but seemed a little disjointed at times. They knew their menu but it was a little overbearing to be asked three times if we wanted a box and there seemed to be one girl that wandered aimlessly chatting up guests with no particular purpose . Anyway, that wasn't a huge deal since every request was fulfilled promptly. The atmosphere though is where I felt confused. We made reservations for a party of six. We were seated in the bar area though and I was given a chair they pulled up to the end of a booth. Neon beer signs on the wall. This was a dive bar setting, not a fine restaurant. There was a DOG running around loose in the dining room (under my feet/chair numerous times). The dog belonged to the owner I guess, it was not a service dog and it just didn't exemplify elegant dining to me. When I pay about $80 per person for a meal, I expect better.

The food excellent. Large portions. You will surely take food home. The price is somewhat high. The meat is fantastic. The place was clean. The reservation as we requested. And it is well located. Good variety of wines. Although in the area beer is king.

This may be the only restaurant that I can find nothing to criticize. It is the most expensive restaurant in Stephenville but worth every penny. I recommend ordering something you have never tried and let your taste buds enjoy!

Very disappointed. Spent big bucks. The Steak was tough, even if ordered medium well, sides were like baby food, thin and salty. No bread or crackers with salad, although salad was good. Service was fair but not exceptional. It was a big expensive disappointment. If you want a great steak and great service don't waste your money here. Go to the Chop house in Hico. Now that place is worth the money and the food is on point and the ambiance and service is perfection!!! I actually was on the reservation list under my husband's name. And I don't know the owners of either one. All I know is what my experience was I am an honest person who doesn't mind turning loose of money for a good meal or experience. This just wasn't it.

So delightful! Our service was top notch! We were allowed in the wine cellar where the chef greeted us! Great wine, food was exceptional and dessert was amazing!! So pleased with the personal experience we received and can't wait to see what Chef Newton does in the future!

What a hidden gem in Stephenville right on the square. The chicken fried steak is a must have experience. Took my teammates here for Christmas dinner and we weren't disappointed.

We drove a hour to check out this hidden jewel. The bartender was the perfect mixologist and our server was very attentive and helpful. The staff was top notch. We split a ribeye and it was still massive. It was cooked to perfect and the chef was kind enough to stop by our table. The dirty rice balls are to die for and the spice is not too much. The carrots were so good and tasted like butter cinnamon candy and a must to complement your meal.

We usually love this place, but it was a full house and it must have effected them a lot; both our orders were very overcooked and dry (filet asked medium) and my husbands burger was overcooked asked medium. Asked for crème brûlée—came out with no fruit and was very undercooked you could still taste egg, consistency was like scrambled eggs. Very unfortunate, but maybe they need to find a nice system that when they’re swamped, it doesn’t affect their food. But we still enjoy this place and our bartender was excellent!

Ate here to celebrate our daughter's Ring Ceremony at Tarleton. Fun, cozy, down home vibe. Average service, but excellent food. Stephenville's hidden gem.
