We have always eaten Chicken fry, but we recently were told her Nacho's were good and boy are they!!!!! I have tried for years to find someone that did Nacho's as good as Ramona did back in Eastland.

We have been wanting to come to this place for sometime after seeing it featured on several different TV shows about Texas restaurants. Finally in the area and had the opportunity to stop in and give it a try. I got the medium sized chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. It was outstanding and I brought home over half of it. Mary’s Café was very good and far from a disappointment. Highly suggest you stop in if you have time.

Great food and service. Portions are huge. Only thing is you can’t be in a hurry. There’s usually a line to be seated and once you order, it takes a while because the food is cooked to order mean it arrive at the table, hot and fresh. Take your time enjoy enjoy the atmosphere. It’s well worth the wait.

Growing up in a small area and frequenting this establishment was a staple for our family.
Today whenever we visited, we had 6 people in our group. We were placed on a list-called in about 30 minutes later. We were seated, it took a minute to get our drinks, took 15 for our waitress to take our order, took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get our meal.
Whenever we got our food you can imagine we were famished. I took the first bite of my shrimp and it was the fishiest cold tasting fried shrimp I’ve ever had, I almost pulled a kid move and spit it right back into the plate.
With everything that we experienced that day, we weren’t even offered a discount, we were given excuses. I don’t even know why we left a tip or paid for our meal.

Born and reared in Mineral Wells, a trip to Mary’s is always a welcome occurrence! I have been there many times. Not to be confused with Mary’s in Mineral Wells which is great in its own right, Mary’s in Strawn is, indeed, a Texas treasure!

Bucket list for the hubby's bday..he's been talking about this for a very long time then while watching landman he was like that's the place! So worth the two hour drive..and the staff was top notch in kindness!! Will definately be back for some more chocolate pie!! They ain't lyin' when they say the best CFS anywhere! 🤌

Mediocre at best. Steak is pan fried not chicken fried. Mashed potatoes were real. Salad the lettuce was wilted. I won't be going back .
