We recently had our all our wedding events catered from Dawat Catering and it was FANTASTIC! They met all our expectations and went above and beyond. We had 5 events catered across Houston in various locations, with each event ranging from 75-400 guests. All food was delivered and catered on time. The staff kept the food hot and ready. Through multiple tastings we had the chance to customize each events menu to meet our guests needs (vegetarian, no onion/garlic, Tex-mex, Mediterranean, chaat stations, Gujarati food, Tamil food served on banana leaves, Punjabi food served hot and ready from a tandoor, fasting food, creating separate plates for those with allergies: nuts, gluten, vegan, etc). The guests could not get enough of the variety of flavors provided and RAVED of the food at each event. Great service, very friendly and hospitable, and would recommend all to cater big and small events with Mahesh bhai and the Dawat Catering Team: 100/100

Mahesh bhai catered my son’s wedding and I can’t say enough positive things about his food, service, and his kindness. All of our guests talked about how creative his dishes were—coconut kachori, papad on bindi, achari chicken, pistachio kofta, mini paneer tacos—the list goes on). The presentation was out of this world. After the baraat, he presented the tastiest lychee pineapple juice in light bulbs. At the sangeet, the chicken and bean tacos were in nice stands. He put samosa filling in egg rolls. Don’t even get us started on the taste. The bindi was so crunchy but also tender—unsure how he struck that balance. He made Gujrati food for lunch with kadhi, undhyu, chutney dhokla, tindora, and doodhi patra ka shak—our guests couldn’t get enough of it.
Working with him was a phenomenal experience. He hosted multiple tastings to understand our flavor preferences. He truly made us feel like he cared about us and our event and made it a bespoke experience. For example, we requested paneer tacos at the sangeet and then also at the cocktail hour. When he was putting the menu together, he called me back and suggested a different option for the sangeet so that we wouldn’t duplicate it. He also prepared a plate for the bride and groom and their parents which is usually the wedding planner’s job! Our entire family wanted to meet him because they appreciated the catering experience so much. It’s this type of thoughtfulness that made us really value Mahesh bhai. We cannot recommend him highly enough.

He was like a dad during our events as he was watching over us and our guests to make sure everyone is well fed! The food was absolutely excellent! We made so many demands as we wanted the food to have some Bengali items.. as well as North Indian and some western items for our non-desi guests. He fulfilled every demand and more. Review on behalf of Margaritaville Resort Lake Conroe - we've had several families work with Mahesh and his team for their off catering needs. From vendor to vendor the process is seamless from planning to the day of. They provide the menu and equipment needs at least 3 weeks before the wedding and communicate very well before and during the events. When the events are done they leave our main kitchen in better condition than it was when they arrived. Last but not least the food is always fantastic!

They were really accommodating to guests who had dietary restrictions and made people with allergies their own plate, which we truly appreciated.We were impressed from the tasting we had with our family, and Daawat did not let down during the events, everything tasted and looked as it did during the initial tasting! They were very professional and the pricing was an absolute bargain for the incredible amount and quality of food they provided. They run business under 3 different names(Indian Summer, Madras Pavilion and Daawat Catering) and Indian Summer is their recent name for an attempt to rebuild their poor google reviews of madras pavilion.We hired them for catering for the wedding and we had extremely unpleasant experience. They brought the food an hour late for the wedding and the desserts ran short. The food was served cold and no presentation whatsoever as they advertise it as “Catering with a twist”. The creative presentation they bring on your tasting day is not even close to what they actually deliver. The owner has no staff to accommodate any communications and he never picks up his phone nor answer messages after getting initial deposit. They didn’t pick up the phone even on the day of our catering. When we tried bring these facts back to the owner(Mahesh) and he started being rude to my family and instead of being apologetic about the inconvenience he asked us to be thankful for at least delivering the food because apparently they could deny service at last minute even after getting full payment in advance. I highly recommend against this restaurant/caterers for any important events, I find them highly unreliable…
