Stopped by the Dairy Queen near my house because I was craving one thing and one thing only—steak fingers. That’s honestly the main reason I ever come here. They hit the spot as usual, crispy on the outside and tender inside, exactly how I remember them.

The place itself is always pretty busy, and it can look a bit messy when the rush hits. I went inside to order instead of using the drive-thru, and the staff seemed a little slow that evening—nothing terrible, just not in a hurry. Still, they were polite and got my order right.

Overall, it’s convenient for me, and if you’re a fan of steak fingers like I am, it’s worth the stop. Just expect a little wait and a crowd during peak times.

This time of year, I so look forward to the chicken and dumplings. This is the first time I ordered from this location and it is nothing like the original recipe at other Dairy Queen locations. It is more of a brothy soup style instead of a cream style. What makes their chicken and dumplings so tasty is the cream gravy. Unfortunately, this location must not follow the same recipe. I'll stick with going to the Stafford location.

Do not get a burger with bacon here. As you will get turkey bacon instead of regular bacon. This is not right! This is a US franchise. You need to have both and tell people that it is turkey bacon and not pork or at least give people a choice. I have never been to a franchise restaurant that didn’t have pork bacon.

The Sugar Land Dairy Queen has to be the only place where straws, napkins, and sauces are treated like state secrets. Everything is locked up behind the counter, so customers stand around waiting just to beg for an extra napkin. This isn’t on the staff — they’re just following orders. This is clearly the owner’s brilliant “cost-saving strategy,” which feels less like hospitality and more like running a prison commissary.

And when you finally get what you asked for, it’s doled out like they’re handing over bars of gold. Honestly, I’ve seen airlines give out more peanuts than this place gives out napkins. It’s cheap, it’s petty, and it ruins the whole Dairy Queen experience.

***Message to the franchisee: running a DQ shouldn’t mean running it like Scrooge’s snack shack. Customers don’t want to feel like they’re negotiating a hostage release for ketchup packets, stop penny pinching and learn to operate a business without prejudice and a giving heart.

FYI: This location is in Sugar Land which has a median income of $130,000+ no one wants to abuse the privilege of self serve condiments, napkins, straws, and even lids for drink cups.

THE BLIND EYE

I ordered a large hot fudge sundae and a large vanilla ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. They gave me a large waffle cone and barely any ice cream and they gave me a small in a big cup large hot fudge sundae when the plastic container weighs more than the ice cream they’re putting in And when the ice cream cone weighs more than the ice cream they put in there’s a problem I understand to save money, but when you pay for a large item and expect a large item, you should get that otherwise I would’ve ordered a small ice cream cone and a small hot fudge sundae But next time I won’t be coming back to your Restaurant I’ve been to other Dairy Queen’s and left very good reviews, but this location is skimping people and myself out of ice cream when you go there expecting ice cream never again famous words

Bought 3 mini blizzards strawberries and chocolate chip. Paid xtra for chocolate chips. Very disappointed. Ice cream melting, mostly soup vanilla flavor. Asked to remake got the same melted cup. Not coming back.

Lady who takes orders through drive thru intercom was so friendly. Blizzards are always really good. Giving it 4 stars though because once I ordered just a chocolate milkshake and was given an orange cream milkshake. It wasn't even busy at the time so I didn't think they could mess that up. Order was taken from a black male who looks like a teenager.
