The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. I have eaten there twice and will return again and again.

I was disappointed in the restaurant. Maybe just me, but I liked nothing I ate or drank. My margarita was weak, even after ordering a shot of GM to add. Very sweet-tasting. The salsa had an odd, off-putting spice taste, as did the beef dish I ordered. It was like the spice was added after cooking and did not blend in.
Nice-looking place, and the servers were good, but I just did not care for what I ate.

Visited Houston/Sugar Land, Texas (10/14/25) for the first time and had lunch in this El Fogon Mexican kitchen and HIGHLY disappointed. Ordered chicken chimichanga. Food arrived, chimichanga looked huge but after I cut in half, I noticed only VERY few season-less and dried cut up chicken wrapped in HUGE and thick tortilla. The tortilla was so thick the it was still raw in the inside (even after deep fried). I showed my plate to the server and he noticed what I described since I didn’t eat the tortilla. I dismantled the chimichanga. The server (named Checo) said “I’ll let the kitchen know” and I still paid full price! No way we will go back in that restaurant and will never recommend this to others! The worst feeling was that out of thousands Mexican restaurants in the area, yet we managed to picked the worst of the worst!

I have to admit this place has great food and wonderful atmosphere, and Sergio(checo) as floor manager is excellent with his customers and very attentive. I have to add to my comment that Pedro and rest of the staffs are very good as well. Thanks for overtime we visit we feel comfortable! They will take care of you.

Went there for a friends birthday dinner. The ambiance and staff was lovely. However, the food sucked. The charro beans were salty, the rice was bland. In ordered the steak and shrimp and the steak was the worse stake I’ve ever had. It was the thinnest stake I’d ever seen, I asked for medium and it was cooked well done. I couldn’t recommend eating here but the drinks were good.

Horrible service. Went to dinner with friends on a Saturday night and pretty much got ignored. They forgot our tortillas for our fajitas, took forever to get our water, never checked on our table or cleared away dishes. They were even late giving us our ticket. Last, but not least we ordered dessert to go. I asked for sopapillas and discovered I had flan when I got home. Silly me, I should have checked before I left the restaurant they way things went all night. The food was good, but service sucked.

Great little place for Mexican food with accesible prices. The food was excellent and very nice decoration and atmosphere. Our server was Laura (her first day working here) and she was very professional and courteous. We will go back again.

This is the place to have your next gathering. Recently had a party of 26. We were provided the back room which is a separate section and the restaurant service was exceptional! Had another celebration with 9 people and were also provided with excellent service. The food and drinks are always top notch!
