I ordered what I thought was going to be a big plate, the captains platter, and was completely disappointed. What was supposed to be a filet of red fish was more like 1/4 of a piece of fish. The chicken strip was even smaller than that. The shrimp were way overdone and rubbery, and the garlic bread was burned like they it was being toasted over an open flame. I wish I had taken photos. Definitely feel I was way overcharged for what they gave me. 1 / 10 rated.

Wonderful!!! I am surprised there isn't a line out the door. Everything top notch and no old grease taste! It isn't cheap but you could blow $16 at a cheap Burger place. We got the platter.

Great stop for takeout. Small so not great for crowds if eating in. Very reasonably priced. Fast friendly. Order online because they cook it fresh and it may take a while.Parking: There are only 6 spaces and some are taken by a shoe repair shop.

Nice service clean restaurant not busy was a little concerning. Ordered the catfish and was disappointed- it looked and tasted like fried tilapia. For $16 the medium shrimp and fish plate with cole slaw and watery red beans and rice. The fish was three skinny fillets of fish I really don’t thing it was catfish. First time at this location as for years used to go to one near westheimer n Kirkwood area. My expectations were not met, at all. At all at all. The shrimp was hot the 4 little pieces but I was like super dissatisfied about the meal. I didn’t see but didn’t ask about the sirachi sauce. The red beans were done but the sauce was very thin and watery and did not carry much flavor. None of the meal stuck to my bones. But for real the fish was a disheartening disappointment. I brought my little cousin from out of town- he enjoyed his order but I explained my dissatisfaction after we left. Won’t return it’s not worth the keep hope alive attitude hoping the next time will be better it just wasn’t any good for the dollar, serving size, and quality. Now the shrimp was hot. But that was all and the man that took our order was great but the food - I see why the parking lot was deserted.

I went here 11/20/23 to pick up diner for me and my wife. me and my wife. I had been here several times in the past, but not recently ( probably 2 years ago at least). spoke with the cashier about the selections on the menu and made my selections I ordered (2) Cat fish diners. One with onion rings and cold slaw and the other with fries and hush puppies. I also ordered a cup of shrimp gumbo. i got my order and checked it when i got to the car. I opened up the containers so that the food would not get steamed up. I was like, what the hell is this crap. Instead of having cat fish fillets, i had cat fish strips.........WTH, which were the same size as the shrimp. I go back in and ask the attendant about the fillets and he said that they no sold fried fillets, only grilled. What they had given me was cat fish strips. Who sells catfish strips. Their menu said nothing about the fish only being strips. I would never have bought this crap in the first place had i known or been told this was the case. These people in an effort to increase their profits decided to cheat their customers and cut back on the food portions. i was "PISSED" . If you had never been there before, you would never have known. Instead of serving Fillets, they are cutting the fillets into 3 pieces and SCREWING the customer over. The side order of onion rings was reduced to a quantity of (4), the shrimp were ok and the fries were ok, as well as the cold slaw. The seafood gumbo was a joke (terrible). These people had a great menu and a great product, but screwed it up being greedy and cheap. If the cost of doing business cost a little more, then charge a little more. People like myself will be more than happy for what you were previously serving. At the very least give your customers the option of buying fish strips or fish fillets. I don't mind paying for a quality product and portion. Stop being 'CHEAP" with your portions and your quality. Unfortunately, you don't ever have to worry about me and my family being fish here ever again as it is currently being served.. So Sad!!! J. Trimble Sugar land, Texas

On two occasions Fish Place Sugar Land has served me Tilapia when I ordered grilled Redfish. They have lost my business permanently....

Onion Rings are huge and DELICIOUS as are the oysters. Recently I had fried oysters at Fish City Grill which were literally 1/4 the size of Fish Place and were flavorless. Prices are respectful and it should be the go-to seafood spot in Sugar Land. Food is solid and the prices aren't $20 a plate. My new Fish Place! Best to order to-go because it's not too comfortable to eat inside.

Ordered Fish Place via Uber eats and I'm not quite sure how "Fish" can be in your business name, and you cook it so poorly. I ordered the fish and onion rings and my husband ordered a shrimp poboy. The fish was nearly inedible. I have no idea what "particular fish" this was, as they did not state on the Uber menu, but I'm positive it's a low quality, more than likely swai. It was over cooked, hard and the breading they use is a strong miss, in both flavor and texture. Onion rings were hard and tasted as if they used the same grease they fried the fish in. They give you a stake piece if garlic bread for what is unclear but I ended up throwing it away. The poboy was NOT much better. There are so many places in the area, Eat here at your own risk. Quite frankly I'm surprised they have any stars. Would never go back.
