Love the food and the staff. Great place to start the weekend with either a Nirvana or Sushi Boat!

Been a patron since they opened over 20yrs ago. Their food & drinks are always on point. The sushi is by far my favorite in Houston, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Love Japaneiros!

I visited restaurant on a week day evening. The food descriptions looked appetizing. Sadly, the flavor of the food was lacking. I ordered the dumplings, which were at the correct temperature and actually good. The sushi was not actual sushi. I'm not sure what the sushi was supposed to be... the taste was bland. The calamari was cut into cubes, and looked like it came frozen, then fried. The fusion of Japanese food and Latin food did not work out for me. I didn't finish the meal. The leftovers will probably go into the trash. If you sit inside, the noise level is loud... sit outside and you're near the traffic noise. The service was good.

Came here before Hasan Minaj's comedy show at the smart financial center in sugar land. I ordered a roll that is actually off menu called the supreme roll. The roll was good but unfortunately the order took forever to be filled and it was almost 90 minutes before the roll came out. But to be fair, this may have been my fault for ordering an off menu item. Hopefully can come back here when it's less crowded!

Non alcohol options are limited unless you drink Coke products.I had Mango Tea and didn't like it so went for traditional Lemonade. The water they use from the fountain to make the minute maid Lemonade taste horrible so I went without a beverage. The communication wasn't great. I ordered California rolls for my son and needed a minute to decide for myself. When the guy came back for my order he asked if there would be anything for my son? ?I pointed at my son and said he's having the California Rolls. He had a defensive posture with his hand up and explained he didn't know if I wanted his order in already or at the same time? That question should've been asked when I placed his order 10min prior. Our food comes and the manager brings it. She doesn't look like she works there by her attire. They only way I concluded she was because she was giving direction and handling food. She brought 1 plate and mentioned California Rolls.I pointed to my son to let her know that's his order. There were like 16 pieces in 2 different groups. I looked at the plate ? confused. She said it's both and named my order which my son is highly allergic to.Me: You put both orders on 1 plate?Manager: yes do you need 2 plates?Me: Yes please (who does that)I had the Hawaiin shrimp ? roll hold the chill powder. The flavor was good.My sons California roll had a lot of pieces of carrot ? mixed in the rice which is odd. Normal sushi is just the whit rice roll.He ate a few pieces and he was done.As we're about to leave I noticed fried sushi oreo and a scoop of vanilla ice cream so I decided to give it a shot. It said it was the employees favorite. It was delivered with 2 forks. I thought it's weird to eat sushi with a fork and ice cream with a fork ? ? so I req a spoon ? for my ice cream and chopsticks for my sushi. It was ok for me. If you really like oreos and have a super sweet tooth go for it! The blueberry on top threw the whole chocolate to vanilla bread sweet creamy sweet off. YuckThe communication was horrible. You should put on the menu or verbalize all food comes on 1 plate.People have allergies and preferences. You should ask if the desert will be shared and not assume and bring extra utensils creating an odd situation.I probably won't go here again unless everything else is closed and I needed to get my vegan son some food.

Our server John made my night, I was having a pretty rough evening and I had ordered the wrong thing and he helped make it right. He made me feel very validated and not ashamed of myself for making a mistake and turned my night around for the better. Thank you John, I really really appreciate it so much.

Came into japanieros on Thursday and had a great dinner, it was the combination of food, ambiance, and amazing service. Our server Bri helped me pick the perfect roll and she was so insightful about the menu and all my options. The drinks were great and the food was even better, I'll definitely be coming back.

Japaneiros has been one of my favorite Sushi places in the area for a long time, somewhat of a Latin-Japanese fusion but where all the flavors were combined in perfect harmony. My son came to visit from Brussels and he asked to go there since it was one of his favorite restaurants as well. The service was great as usual, the drinks were lovely and so were the appetizers and salads (you have to try the Ponzu Chuka), but then came the sushi rolls...both of us were puzzled from the first piece and looked at the inside of the rolls (should have taken a picture), cream cheese was the main ingredient in both our rolls: we could see it, feel the texture in our mouth and its taste overpowering any other flavor in our rolls. We were very disappointed, wondering if they have new sushi chefs or if decreasing seafood and increasing cream cheese in the rolls is a way to compensate for not increasing prices too much. Please go back to the original recipe, the one that so many of us in Sugar Land love, we like our sushi to taste like sushi.

This place has always been great! Been coming here for years & as always the service is exceptional! One waiter in specific, by the name of Logan W. who is extremely friendly, approachable and on point with the menu and services.

What can I say this place is amazing!! The fusion of Latin and Asian foods work so well. The service was outstanding and fast. We tried a few items off the menu that were recommended by our awesome waiter Johnathan. The beef tostadas and the tres leche were my number one choices. The crab Rangoon and seaweed salad was so tasty. There were a variety of sushi options and they were great and fresh. Honestly everything was so beyond words we will be returning soon. If you looking for a great meal and good service I would check them out.
