Wonderful food! This was my first time at Mamak! Our waiter was wonderful! We ordered stuff that he knew wouldn't be enough for us, so he helped us out but giving us an additional soup! That was essential! He was right - we didn't know what our order would look like and that soup he recommended, was fantastic!! All the food was delicious - very tasty, not very spicy, rich in flavors, perfect portions.

My visit here was inspired by an episode of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. He spoke highly of a dish called Assam Laksa. This is one of the only restaurants in Houston serving that dish. It was a unique experience for me that didn't live up to some of the more popular noodle soup dishes around, but it wasn't something so foreign that I couldn't eat it. It had a fishy smell, was a bit sour, and not too spicy. The fresh toppings were great. I don't regret giving the dish a try, but probably wouldn't order it again. The dish that will bring you back here is the roti. 12/10 - it is made to order and comes out perfect.

I am so glad Mamak is open, giving us a glimpse of home with the food.
Roti canai was amazing. Seafood wan tan hor was perfectly made, salt pepper calamari was delicious. I took it home on a 3 and half hour journey, and it still tasted so good.
We had a number of to go orders, so I can't wait to try those.. nasi lemak and golden rice with beef rendang.
Service was amazing! Can't wait to come back with the family.

Chicken Wings 4/5 Not bad, could be better.
Penang Asam Laksa 5/5 Not bad considering this is the only place that sells it.
Beef Wat Tan Hor 4/5 Not bad. They give raw eggs so be sure to ask for well down eggs if you don’t like that.

I ordered seafood curry noodle and omelet. If they have yong tau fu for the curry noodle, then I would it perfectly match the Malaysian curry noodle as their curry taste so good and authetic.
