Wonderful food! This was my first time at Mamak! Our waiter was wonderful! We ordered stuff that he knew wouldn't be enough for us, so he helped us out but giving us an additional soup! That was essential! He was right - we didn't know what our order would look like and that soup he recommended, was fantastic!! All the food was delicious - very tasty, not very spicy, rich in flavors, perfect portions.

This restaurant boasts beautiful decor and provides solid service, creating a pleasant dining experience. The spicy vegetables were a standout with their bold, flavorful kick, and the laksa was absolutely amazing—rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. As one of the few authentic Malaysian restaurants in Texas, it’s a true gem. I genuinely hope they continue to thrive and share their incredible flavors for years to come!

My visit here was inspired by an episode of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. He spoke highly of a dish called Assam Laksa. This is one of the only restaurants in Houston serving that dish. It was a unique experience for me that didn't live up to some of the more popular noodle soup dishes around, but it wasn't something so foreign that I couldn't eat it.
