Pho Ben is a favorite pho restaurant located in Sugar Land, inside a large strip center with plenty of parking, making it very convenient. It is close to 99 Ranch and Jusgo. The restaurant is spacious with lots of tables, including high-top seating and benches, and can accommodate a big crowd. It gets busy but rarely has a long wait.
The restaurant offers excellent value. A small bowl of pho is $11 and a large is $12, with at least 15–20 different combinations of meats like rare steak, brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatballs. You can request rare steak on the side to cook it yourself. Each bowl comes with fresh garnishes like bean sprouts, mint, basil, and jalapeño. Popular orders include pho, the #20 pho, the #10 pork bahn mi, Grilled Pork & rice, Pho Tai, and lemongrass pork spring rolls or Grilled Pork Spring Rolls.
The pho usually comes out quickly and piping hot. Many find the broth consistently flavorful and the food delicious, calling it the best Vietnamese food. Some feel the quality has gone down a bit, noting minimal bone flavor or subpar noodles and broth. Service is consistently described as friendly, attentive, fast, and incredibly diligent, with orders coming out ASAP. It is a nice place to eat with family and friends.
