We were never sat. We had an 8 pm reservation. We arrived early and waited patiently only to find out that a whole section was being closed so a server could go home. Another server was new and did not feel they could cover any additional tables. So essentially only the bar area was being seated. The hostess sat walkins before us in the bar. We had to aske the hostess what was going on and that's the explanation she provided. It was bad and frustrating for a place to be staffed so inappropriately on one of the busiest nights in the service industry. I have never seen anything quite like it. The bartender was working harder than anyone trying to work the bar and take other tables. I'm not even sure there was a manager in duty. The hostess was the worst. She had trouble firmly and clearly communicating the situation. We would have chosen to sat in the bar when we had initially arrived. She couldn't clearly tell people how long the wait was. Untimely she stood around a lot looking in the weeds despite not actually having much work to do.

The up in smoke roll was exceptional, the flavor was the fish was great! The interior is so pretty too, definitely recommend for those within the sugar land area!

Takara Sushi & Asian Bistro never disappoints! Their attention to detail in every dish is evident. I particularly enjoyed their creative specialty rolls; they were a delightful culinary experience!
Definitely a hidden gem in the area for great food and atmosphere. It wasn’t too crowded and the food was fantastic. Will be back and highly recommend. Service was great as well.

Diarrhea causing food. Steer clear of the miso soup and udon noodles. That’s all we had in common and everyone in my group got sick. The service was also lackluster, and the table wasn’t clean. I feel bad for the young workers doing their best without proper training and support.

Takara Sushi Restaurant in Sugar Land left me thoroughly impressed. The sushi boat display was not just visually stunning but also showcased incredibly fresh selections. Using blue fin tuna for all their tuna sashimis elevated the dining experience. Every step of the way felt upscale, from the delightful coconut shrimp to the tender Wagyu beef cooked on a hot stone – the aroma was captivating. Takara has truly mastered the art of delivering a delightful and exquisite dining experience. Highly recommended!
