The Roof Reviews
My Experience was horrible this is my first and last time. I was there 3 1/2 hours and I had a reservation. We literally had to beg for Silverware but I guess silverware was useless because I never received my food. I spoke with the “Manager” that was a waste of speech. Guess came in 40 minutes after my party was seated and got everything in a timely manner. And it took an act of congress to get silverware. The Roof is a nice black-owned restaurant known for its delicious food and great service, making it a suitable date night spot, especially early in the evening. The ambiance is pleasant, though some decor improvements are needed, particularly on the walls and in the restrooms. The food has received mixed reviews; while the grilled Branzino and lobster appetizer continue to be highlights, some side dishes, like the collard greens and fried pickles, have been noted to lack flavor and variety. Recent visits have highlighted both the good food and the entertainment provided by Dean James, an international artist, which has been well-received by guests. However, some diners experienced slow service and a lack of organization, with not enough staff available to attend to guests effectively. The wait staff is friendly and professional, but the overall service could be improved. Despite minor flaws, The Roof remains a great find, with the potential to become a top evening destination for couples or families. Guests can also enjoy the patio for a lovely experience with wine and sunset views.
