One Star My wife and I dined at The Roof on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. for brunch in celebration of her birthday. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet the standards of a fine dining establishment and was deeply disappointing from start to finish. We were seated promptly since we were the only guests in the restaurant at the time. However, the booth assigned to us had its seat covered with a fleece throw, which created an impression more suited to a casual café than an upscale venue. Our server greeted us politely and began service with water. When we requested the endless mimosas that were advertised online, we were told they were not available. My wife ordered the Salmon Pontchartrain, while I chose the Chicken and French Toast. Despite being the only table at that point, our entrées took nearly 30 minutes to arrive. The quality of the food was far below expectations. The salmon was clearly frozen rather than fresh, something one would expect from a casual chain restaurant, not a fine dining establishment. While my dish was attractively plated, the chicken was extremely tough—so much so that it could not be cut with a knife and had to be torn apart by hand. The overall quality was comparable to, or worse than, what could be found at a fast-food chain for a fraction of the price. Once another table of eight was seated, service declined further. Drink refills took an unusually long time, and we had to wait again for our bill. When it did arrive, we were surprised to see a 20% gratuity automatically applied to our party of two, as well as an additional credit card processing fee. In summary, The Roof delivered an experience that was subpar in every regard—slow service, poorly prepared food, and unjustified additional charges—all while presenting itself as a fine dining destination. Unfortunately, it did not live up to that promise, and we will not be returning.

The live jazz was phenomenal! Service was horrible but I think they were short staffed and the only waiter was doing the best he could. Many people waited, with reservations, for at least 15 mins just to be seated, when there were plenty of available tables.

The Roof has great potential. It has a great location and the restaurant and bar is very nice. We were there on Wednesday evening the 27th of August. We made the reservation and said that we were celebrating an anniversary. We were the only people eating a meal. They are trying hard to make this restaurant a success. They had a couple of specials that evening which were nice. It is worth a try, but unfortunately we left with the feeling of not going back - also it is quite a few miles for us to drive. We wish them all the best in the future.

Phenomenal food and service. The atmosphere was romantic and definitely a vibe. 9/10 would definitely recommend.

Had a nice view and outdoor seating on the roof. We ordered the Boudin Balls and Calamari. They were not made in house, they tasted and looked like packaged frozen appetizers. Not good at all to say the least. Next we requested their wine list to order a bottle of with our food and they did not have not even ONE unopened bottle to sell in white or red. They offered a $15 glass of wine in red or white and when the server returned with a taste of the red wine you automatically could see that it had been opened for several days by its smell and color. Clearly we refused the wine. My husband and I decided to cut our losses and leave. $20 appetizers were not worth it and we were not going to gamble with $50 entrees that were probably frozen TV Dinners. I will say that our server was nice and polite. We will not be returning or recommending this establishment to anyone.

It had a beautiful view of the lake. That might be the only positive thing I have to say. The restaurant really "wanted" to be nice... Maybe it was nice at one point, but I wouldn't suggest this place for any of my friends or family (maybe as a joke).

Service was very very slow, it was ten of us and we did not get a chance to eat together as a group. We had an a 8:00 pm reservation and still have not got our

Nice black owned restaurant. The ambiance was nice. The food was good. More selections for sides are needed. The collard greens had no flavor and the fried pickles were ok, they needed flavoring as well. I had the grilled Branzino which was good. My overall experience was good.

Went here for Father's Day. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the mimosas were definitely a highlight — refreshing and well made. However, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The food was underwhelming and didn't live up to the atmosphere, and the service was just okay. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't memorable either. Unfortunately, it's not a place I'd return to. There are better options out there that deliver on both ambiance and quality.
