Udipi is a favorite neighborhood restaurant with a host of delicious vegetarian offerings. The restaurant was busy with patrons filling the space as usual. Many were families. Tonight we had Bisibelebath, Spring Dosa, Sambar (soup) and rice cakes (Idly). We were treated to a Mango drink and a sweet dessert. The portions were plentiful, so much that we had a take home box after feeling rather full. Excellent food, moderately priced and comfortable but not-so-fancy atmosphere.

Not up to a Udipi Cafe expectation. Mediocre food. We had to try it once. The dinner thali felt were served with leftovers from the morning. Ample quantity thou.

Owner acts like she is doing a favor to you by your eating at her restaurant. Customer service doesn’t exist here. The Hilcroft location is even worse.

Food was good. The cashier slapped a 18% service tax for some apparent reason without prior intimation. Feel somewhat duped after the whole thing. Definitely not going bad which saddens me because the food and servers were actually great.

Average food. Ordered paneer dish but looked like they served tofu instead. Sambar was little spicy unlike real Udupi sambar which tends to be on sweeter side. Idly was ok, soft. Pineapple kesari was made in canola oil or some cheap oil rather than ghee, it was tasteless. They have put photos of celebrities visiting the place, I too visited from North TX, seeing those marketing gimmicks. But overall it’s just average.
