Dropped in randomly, and have become a diehard fan. GORGEOUS place with soul and character. And extremely kind owner who’d sold out but made me a biscuit with egg, arugula, and avocado. I quickly tossed aside my post-Thanksgiving nutrition goals and was treated with the best biscuit of my life. This is said as an informal biscuit connoisseur from Georgia and having lived in Austin 20 years. As in better than Dai Due biscuits, hands down. Separately, the owner studied to become a pastry chef in Kiev and is just a kind, interesting, and engaging person. I intend to drive back one weekend to take my husband and kids. What a gem and a lovely surprise!

Amazing! It's that simple. Our family brought a butter pecan pie for dessert, and the pie was simply amazing.

We have been very excited to have such a nice bakery in town. I have visited three times and only the last time did I actually buy something. First time I came by for cakes, but they don’t do cakes. The second time they were just plain cleaned out of everything except for Pastries I wasn’t shopping for. The third time I was determined to get something for a dinner party. We haven’t tried them yet, but I’ll be back to review how good they were.
Very attractive atmosphere and the service is great. This is just a small town and a small bakery so selection is very limited. The people in front of me were very excited to get the pastries they bought. I look forward to returning and letting you know how good the product was.
After sampling a lemon berry pie, I’m impressed. The crust was amazing! Selection was nonexistent though. The website doesn’t stress TO CALL AHEAD enough. If you want anything besides pastries, CALL DAYS AHEAD!

I went to Flake for the first time today and was greeted with a warm and friendly smile when I entered. The display case had a wide variety of pastry products and the inside of the shop had tables to sit down. I selected some chocolate chip cookies and they were terrific. The flavor and texture were so much better than any store bought cookies or something you would get at a chain sandwich store. I'm really looking forward to trying some of the other offerings next time I'm in Taylor. Keep up the good work Flake Bakery!

A true gem in Taylor! Some of the most incredible pastries I’ve ever had have been eaten here! The chef is absolutely incredible (and so sweet and welcoming!). Everything from the browned butter chocolate chunk cookies, to the fontina grilled cheese with apricot mostarda and carrot soup, to the blueberry turnovers, to the hand pies, to the scones is phenomenal. And now she’s creating orange cream cheesecake with scratch crust and homemade whipped cream?! Shut up and take my money!!!!

The decor is stunning. Every single detail has been perfectly curated and styled. The vintage furniture and jewelry case turned display counter add so much character and charm! The color scheme is integrated throughout the restaurant and even into the bathroom. I swear, the owner probably color-matched down to the nails in the woodwork - it’s that detailed!

The passion, love, and effort the chef puts into this bakery is clear in every detail and it makes visitors feel truly cared for. Flake adds some much-needed beauty and flavor to our community.

Come for the INSANELY delicious food. Stay for the warm, aesthetic atmosphere.

Thank you, Flake Bakery! 🥧🍰🍪🥖🥪😋

This place is so cute. I had one of the best sandwiches ever here and my kid enjoyed a big blueberry muffin. The place, down to the plates and silverware are really cute. Great service and very clean. The bathroom is stocked quite well too.

I am a baker. I make biscuits pies, etc. from scratch in my own home. I am very good. I am not as good as Licia at Flake. Absolutely the best biscuit I have ever had in my entire life. Go! Get 14 biscuits. Also her pastries are phenomenal. Get 14 pastries too.

Such a cute little bakery and cafe in Taylor with the BEST cinnamon rolls and other bakery/cafe items. The owner is so nice and you can tell she works super hard. We will grab a coffee from Haciendo and walk over to Flake for breakfast. It makes for such a perfect Saturday morning!
