I came here for dinner by myself. The stuff were really nice. There were a few items that were excellent, but most were OK. The beans were not my favorite but the potato salad was great coleslaw not great. The meat was OK.

Its dark, its smoky, its hot and that describes the food and the restaurant. This has to be the definition of the restaurant is the food. Visiting from the UK to learn about Texas BBQ, we popped in on our way through for a quick bite, with a planned visit later in our trip. The front looks run down, frankly the inside does too, that's part of the charm. There was a gent there who apparently had flown in just for the ribs. We started chatting, and being the gent he was, let me have a small taste of the rib. Its ridiculous - In a good way. Yo have to just try this place, the food is amazing, the character of the building is to e seen, even the business cards on the walls are smoke infused... It really looks like the inside has been in a fire. I bought a T-short from there, now cherished as my proper BBQ T Shirt now I'm back home, feeling the love from Louis himself to give me some inspiration.
Iconic Texas BBQ with smoky brisket and peppery sausage.

So this is my 3rd and last time eating here, because this last time was a complete shame. I typically get a full lb of brisket, and 1 lb sausage, but I didn't this time. I grabbed a 1/2 lb of both, and what I got was flat out ridiculous. This guy gives me brisket that's ALL gristle and fat, and it's only ONE piece. The fact that there was nearly no MEAT on the brisket, is sad. It's sad that it cost $16.50 for this sad price of junk, but it's okay. At least on my first 2 times I went, it was good. Never again, I mean NEVER. Such a rip off. Not to mention it's 1000 degrees in this place, at all times. Horrible experience, and I will be sure to tell EVERYONE I know not to eat here at all.

Love their BBQ. A bit pricey but always good. If not for having to stand in line way too long in 100 degree weather, I’d go more often. They really need to find a faster order system. Archaic.

Best brisket we have had and my hubby was taught how to make texas brisket from his dad. He is a brisket snob. The huge sandwich our son got was incredible. We got there about 11:30 and walked in, no line. By 12 noon the line was out the door! Pays to come early! We've tried a lot of bbq places in Austin area and this is definitely worth the drive and the hype

Excellent BBQ, inside a really old building. One side(dining room) has AC, the other does not.

The ribs were literally falling of the bone. However $19 got me 2 ribs and a slice of brisket. The potato salad was good, the cole slaw was ok, the beans not so great. Service was really slow.
