We had fried catfish, baked potato, and salad. It was really good. The outside of the building is not pretty, and we weren't sure they were open. But I'm glad we stopped. I would definitely recommend this to others.

I come here once a month for the shrimp poboy. It's bomb. The family running this place are extremely attentive and nice. I highly recommend this little spot for some solid poyboys.
I love the food here. Many great choices. The polo asada dinner is on point. It's so very tasty. The beans are great.

The food is fantastic and the service is great too. Nice little family run buisness. The batter is perfectly seasoned and just the right consistency. Fed 20 guys for 150 dollars! I eat here atleast once a week.

I like Johnny’s because it’s a small local business. I see them cooking and making the food as ordered and it’s fresh. I feel like I’m at someone’s house and they’re cooking for me. Always friendly, and sometimes, when he’s trying some thing new, he’ll hand me a sample for my opinion. EVERY NOW and AGAIN, I can twist his arm to make some coconut tea ???. But really nice people. The inside is old looking, but it’s a hidden gem. Don’t let appearances fool you. Food is good

It did appear to be clean but everything is old. Ordered lunch shrimp was given an order of fish. When I said Informed the young lady I ordered shrimp with her heavy accent said she replies “no you ordered fish” and turned and walked away. ? Well I eat fish as also so I thought okay I guess today I’ll try their fish . Not the CS that will keep you coming back. The fish had zero seasoning or flavor. I liked that it didn’t have a fishy taste and had a nice light batter. I only ate one piece of fish half a peace of bread and some of the fries. The fries were good. I thought okay it’s not bad but the CS was enough to say I probably won’t frequent this place. I get to choose where I spend my money and I look for the whole package. In this order Cleanliness, Good CS, Good Tasting and Quality food and Value. I don’t care what it cost if I get the first 3 it’s a value for me at any cost whether it’s $5 or $500. It has to worthy of my time and my money because that is my choice and within my control. The problem with this visit to Johnnys and the reason for. The low review is this is all I’ve eaten all day and this is my 3rd trip to the RR with “ “Diarrhea” no stomach cramping or nausea so it’s not food poisoning but something wasn’t clean or fresh for me to get diarrhea. I thought to myself ok smart girl ? the fact that you were the only one there should have been your clue to walk out. First and last visit to Johnnys Seafood Cafe. Not sure where the high reviews came from but it certainly wasn’t my experience Worth a try if you like but I’m done and don’t recommend.

Best food in Texas City. Gumbo was delicious and full of shrimp. Poppers are stuffed with boudain (i think). Everything is priced well and the cashier lady was mad sweet

First it tastes like a homemade burger!!!!!! It had enough bacon to cut to cover the whole bun!!!!!! The bacon was thick and delicious!!!!!! In the meat taste like 100% beef!!!! But it needed a little more seasoning....
The bun was toasted well on both sides I could even taste the butter. The fries were obviously real from real potatoes but they weren't crunchy enough they weren't firm but they were okay... The best part the beef if you want to know where the beef is they have the beef... Five stars from me. WORTH TRYING OUT......
